CAMPUS CUSTODIAN Reports to: Status: FLSA: Associate Pastor Full-Time (40 hours) Exempt Bee Creek UMC is a community where imperfect people experience the perfect love of God, are transformed, and change the world together. Principle Function The primary responsibility of the Campus Custodian for Bee Creek United Methodist Church is to clean the church facilities, assist with room setup, and perform routine and preventative maintenance on the buildings, mechanical equipment and utility systems for the church campus. This person will need to work cooperatively with the Associate Pastor and the Church Administrative Assistant in assisting with areas needing special attention. Core Responsibilities Clean the inside of all buildings on BCUMC campus Setup tables and chairs for meetings/events as needed. Oversee repair of campus facilities as needed. Lock all buildings when duties are completed. Essential Responsibilities CLEANING Worship Center: Weekly> dust off chairs, vacuum carpet, clean spills on carpet, vacuum and mop floors, clean stage area, clean glass doors, frames, and partitions. Monthly> clean reachable windows. Foyer and Hallways: Weekly> vacuum carpet, clean spills on carpet, remove trash, clean all glass areas, clean drinking fountain, clean entryway carpets. Monthly> dust and clean light fixture. Kitchen: Weekly> clean and mop floor, clean countertops, clean appliance surface areas, clean sinks, remove trash. Monthly> clean inside refrigerators, freezers, clean and straighten pantry, clean oven and stove if needed. Bathrooms: Weekly> clean countertops, clean toilets, clean and mop floors, refill soap and towel dispensers, clean mirrors, clean entry doors, remove trash, clean baby changing area. Monthly> clean light fixtures Cabins: Weekly> vacuum and mop floors, vacuum carpet, clean spills on carpet, clean kitchen areas, clean countertops, clean bathroom areas, add water to drains in bathrooms, dust window shades. Monthly> clean windows inside and out, clean light fixtures, clean porch areas. January – 2016 Qualifications / Core Competencies GENERAL MAINTENANCE Perform preventive maintenance procedures and repairs on the buildings, grounds and mechanical equipment. Coordinate the major repairs on the buildings and grounds. (Diagnose the problem and contact the appropriate repair service) Maintain well equipment and treat water with proper chemicals contacting the water system service as needed. Maintain the campus irrigation systems contacting repair services when needed. Assist with repairs of drywall; paint building structures. Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required (after hours) Maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures. Perform custodial duties such as but not limited to - washing/removing debris and ice from walkways, setting up tables and chairs for meetings/classrooms and placing trash receptacles out for trash pickup. May obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts; orders parts as needed. PERSONAL Demonstrate his/her Christian faith and values Be physically able to lift 50 lbs. Demonstrate ability to work cooperatively with others Ability to work Sundays and Fridays. (Days off are negotiable) Must be a minimum of 18 years old PROFESSIONAL Two years of prior experience in custodial duties Good communication skills Highly organized Attention to details ADMINISTRATIVE Keep open communication with the Associate Pastor and Church Administrative Assistant.
