This one-of-a-kind event features rare and exotic species of palms, cycads and other tropical plants that flourish well in Southern California’s unique environment, as well as other unusual species that you’ll never normally see at local garden shops or nurseries. Come and add a king palm, some lucky bamboo, or perhaps a striking cycad to your landscape design. Cycads add a distinctive touch to any outdoor area and have been growing on earth for more than 200 million years – since the time of the dinosaurs! These living fossils can be found throughout the San Diego Botanic Garden. We invite you to see how we utilize these drought-tolerant plants in the Garden.
