However, these email addresses will be deleted once the participant completes the project. d) Cf. 13.2.5.19 UREC 13 M-3 19th March 2014 (Faculty of Education and Health): 7 TITLE OF RESEARCH: Attachment and exceptional experiences amongst twins Extension of project until 1st October 2013 EXTERNAL REC APPROVAL 13.94 i. (King’s College, London) Research Title: Investigation into KCL student clinical placement in psychiatry: what is actually happening and how can we improve the student experience? The Committee noted that a research project being carried out at King’s College, London, to investigate how nursing and medical students find teaching in placements and to which Greenwich students were invited to participate, was agreed by KCL Research Office under reference no. PNM/13/14-2. ii. (Oxford Brookes University) Research Title: What is the affective impact of student midwives’ early clinical experiences of birth on their learning and professional socialisation? It was noted that UREC’s consent had been given to this project being conducted with the participation of University of Greenwich students on the basis of the ethical approval given by Oxford Brookes University’s Research Ethics Committee under reference no. E3/FH&LS ETHICS GUIDELINES FOR INTERNET-MEDIATED RESEARCH 13.95 The Committee received a copy of the British Psychological Society’s Ethics Guidelines for Internet-Mediated Research. It was agreed that guidelines were needed for the increasing amount of research at the University conducted using online platforms and the BPS guidelines would have general applicability outside research in the field of psychology. The Committee agreed to recommend to Academic Council that the guidelines be adopted as a model for good practice for university internet-mediated research. ANY OTHER BUSINESS 13.96 The Data Protection Officer reminded the committee that the new application form is available online. The form should be downloaded by future applicants and representatives were requested to remind their Faculties about this and to ensure that the new version was used rather than previously saved versions.
