CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
THE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE RIDING PONY STUD BOOK SOCIETY LTD. HAVE BEEN
UPDATED ON THE NATIONAL WEBSITE www.rpsbs.com.au
1. Entries will be received by the Show Secretary & subject to the rules and regulations of the RPSBS Ltd.
2. Exhibitors shall abide by the rules & regulations of the RPSBS Ltd and those hereinafter set out.
3. All exhibitors shall be bound by and observe the decisions of the ground jury.
4. The show ground jury reserves the right to adjudicate upon any entry or upon any dispute or doubt and to make any determination
upon any matter and this decision shall be final and not subject to appeal of any kind. Disputes/protests must be lodged in writing to
the Show Secretary within 30 minutes of the completion of the class, together with a deposit of $55.00 refundable if the protest is
upheld.
5. The Society shall have the power without assigning any reason to:
• Reject or cancel any entry at any time
• Cancel any event or class
• Remove any exhibit from the show grounds
• Transfer an exhibit or exhibitor from any class to another class
• Add to or alter the program as necessary
• Combine classes if there are insufficient entries
6. The Society shall not be responsible for the loss of or for any damage or injury occasioned to any exhibit or the property of any
exhibitor from any cause whatsoever.
7. The Exhibitor enters entirely at his/her own risk. Insurance rules apply.
8. In case any exhibit whilst on the Society’s showground shall cause or be the cause of injury or damage to any other exhibit or
exhibitor, to the person or property of any member of the Society or general public, the owner of such exhibit shall indemnify and keep
indemnified the Society, its officers, officials and members, from and against all damages, costs, claims, expenses or liabilities incurred
in connection with such exhibitors. The exhibitor shall be liable to the Society and its employees, officers and officials for any damage
or loss occasioned to any of them by the exhibitor or his agent.
9. All ponies four years and over must be adult registered.
10. All ponies under four years must either be adult registered or foal recorded.
11. All ponies competing must be visibly branded and registered with the RPSBS Ltd, and owners/exhibitors must be current financial
members of the Society.
12. Ponies cannot be shown under saddle until three years of age.
13. Handlers and riders of stallions and colts must be 18 years of age and over.
14. All ponies are required to be measured. Current measuring certificates issued by any Equestrian Australia, SHC or any Royal Show
will be accepted.
15. There is to be no change of handler once a class has commenced without the permission of the judge.
16. The Judge’s decision will be final.
17. No person shall in any way consult or interfere with or attempt to interfere with the Judge or endeavour to interfere with the
Judge’s freedom of choice or judgment.
18. The Society may alter the Judge for any particular event at any time it deems fit.
19. Approved ASSA helmets must be worn at all times whilst riding. Approved helmets are as follows AS/NZS 3838, EN 1384 or ASTN F
1163.
20. A fall of a horse and/or rider in a ridden event will result in disqualification from that event.
21. A rider must NOT remount in the show ring following a fall.
22. Random swabbing may take place.
23. RPSBS Ltd. membership and registration certificates must be with the owner/exhibitor on the day of the show and must be made
available on request.
24. No pending registrations, no late memberships will be accepted.
25. Newcomer Rules are State specific check State Secretary;
• Each pony must have a current Newcomer Card which must be given to the Ring Steward when entering the ring.
• If the competitor does not produce their Newcomer Card they will not be able to compete.
• Ponies must be ridden in a snaffle bit.
• Any pony that has entered the Newcomer Competition under their State specific rules is eligible to compete at the National
Newcomer event.
26. The Wilkie snaffle or the Baucher bit are now permitted to be used in lead rein or first ridden classes.
27. In the event of cancellation a full refund of entries will not be given.
28. All competitors showing in the Appendix Section must be current financial members of RPSBS Ltd., have current height certificates
and abide by the Rules & Regulations of RPSBS Ltd.
29. Mares and Geldings registered in the Appendix Section must not be shown in any Stud Book Riding Pony Show Pony or Stud Book
Riding Pony Show Hunter classes including any Championship or Supreme Championship.
30. A day membership fee of $33.00 applies to all riders and handlers who show ponies and who are not financial members or
participant
members of RPSBS Ltd.

RULES PERTAINING TO HOME PRODUCED CLASSES (replacing owner exhibitor)
This championship is for Home Produced led and ridden stallions, mares and geldings.
Ponies which are either stabled at home or in a DIY yard and which since 1st January in the current year have not been shown by a
producer or stabled in a producer’s yard other than on a DIY basis or at stud. Ponies shown in these classes must be produced and
shown by the owner/spouse or his/her Immediate Family. Please see the definition of Home Produced below .
Please enter this class in the spirit it is intended. Competitors who contravene the above will be
disqualified.
Eligibility for Home Produced classes:
a) Ponies must not have been in a Professional Producer’s/Trainer’s yard since 1st January in the current year, except on a DIY
basis or at stud.
b) Riders/handlers must not have shown any ponies produced by a Professional Producer/Trainer at any show since 1st January in
the current year.
c) Ponies must not be shown by a rider/handler who has shown for a Professional Producer/Trainer at any show since 1st January
in the current year.
d) Ponies must be produced and shown by the owner/spouse or his/her Immediate Family. Immediate Family is defined as Grandparents, Parents, Parent’s Partners, Husband/Wife and Partners, Brothers, Sisters, Sons, Daughters, Step Grandparents,
Step Parents, Step Brothers/Sisters, Legal Guardians.
e) The definition of a Professional Producer/Trainer is - A person who undertakes the preparation and /or production of
ponies/horses belonging to other exhibitors for the show ring including at a show.
NB: THE RPSBSWA Committee EXPECTS COMPETITORS TO ACCEPT THE RULES OF HOME PRODUCED COMPETITIONS
IN THE SPIRIT INTENDED.

PLEASE USE YOUR NAME AS THE REFERENCE (NOTE – payment must show in the RPSBS WA bank account within 48
hours of close of entries, if not, your entry will be returned to you. Please attach a copy of your EFT deposit receipt
to your entry form.
PLEASE NOTE – Copy of correct registration papers, current membership card and height certificates must
submitted at the time of entry (Broodmare entry must have a height certificate doesn’t have to be current but
pony must of been 4 years and over at the time of measurement)
