Special Notes: A. The degree’s physiology requirement may be met by completing BIOL A310 or BIOL A316 or BIOL A415.
At this time, students must complete an academic petition (available in the department) to ensure Enrollment Services understands
that A316 or A415 are being substituted for A310 and fulfill the department’s physiology requirement; B. CHEM 441 and CHEM
442 are highly recommended for students intending to pursue a medical, dental, or veterinary career; C. Students wishing to pursue
a career in teaching (Grades 7 through 12) must complete 12 credits in biology, 12 credits in chemistry, 12 credits in physics, and
12 credits in geology or astronomy—the credits may be either lower or upper division; D. Students pursuing a BS in Biology may
also receive a Chemistry minor (which will be listed on your diploma and transcript and be visible to future employers) by
completing two additional courses (CHEM A212 and either CHEM A311 or A331) during their academic career. At least 42
upper-division credits are required to fulfill the University General Education Requirements (see III. Other Graduation
Requirements).
