Two year Completion Plan at the University of Wisconsin Superior
If a student completes an Associates of Arts degree (AA) AND completes BIOL 1120, BIOL 1130, CHEM
1210, and CHEM 1211 at Lake Superior College they can complete a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree
with a major in Biology and a Minor in Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin Superior in two years by
completing the following course sequences.
Fall 1
BIOL 340 Ecology (4 cr)
BIOL Elective (3-4 cr)*
Chem 320 Organic Chemistry Lecture (3 cr)
Chem 322 Organic Chemistry Lab (2 cr)
Chem 327 Molecular Spectroscopy (1 cr)
Spring 1
BIOL 330 Genetics (4 cr)
BIOL Elective (3-4 cr)*
CHEM 321 Organic Chemistry Lecture II (3 cr)
CHEM 323 Organic Chemistry Lab (2 cr)
Fall 2
Spring 2
BIOL 440 Cell Biology (4 cr)
BIOL 400 Animal Physiology (4 cr)
BIOL Elective (3-4 cr)*
BIOL Elective (3-4 cr)*
CHEM 360 Intro. to Biochemistry (3 cr)**
CHEM 300 Chemistry of Natural Waters (3 cr)**
*A minimum of 9 credits of BIOL electives are required.
**Students choose either Chem 360 OR Chem 300.
A minimum of 1 credit of Biology Senior Year Experience is required and can be satisfied with the
following courses:
BIOL 491 Undergraduate Research (1-4 cr)
BIOL 492 Biology Seminar (1-4 cr)
BIOL 496 Internship (1-4 cr)
Additional courses may be required to ensure that a total of 120 credits are earned and that 36 credits
of course work has been completed in 300 level or higher courses.
