Judging will begin promptly at 8:00 AM sign-up will begin at 7:00. Trail judging from 10AM to 2PM. 2. All regular classes are $10.00, and post entry is $10.00 per horse for the day for entries received after July 11th. Pre-entry is suggested, payment not required with pre-entry. Entries can be sent to Melanie Muszynski, 7 Barbara Lane, Durham, CT 06422. Pre-entries will not be taken over the phone. All entries must be paid and provide proof of Rabies and negative Coggins before entering the ring. The exhibitor must sign entry form if over 18 or signed by parent or guardian if under 18 before horse and rider enter the ring. 4. The Connecticut Appaloosa Association and the Union Agricultural Society will not be held responsible for any accidents or injuries to horse, riders, spectators or property, nor will any person connected with the planning or execution of this event. 5. Classes will be called at least twice over the PA system. Classes may be canceled, combined, or changed at the discretion of the show committee. A class with only one entry will be canceled. Classes will be held for only 2 minutes if rider is not present entry for that class will be forfeited. 6. Six ribbon awards will be given in each class unless otherwise specified. Trophies will only be awarded in classes with 3 or more riders. 7. Riders are not required to show in all qualifying classes to eligible for a championship. Ties to be broken by equitation placing. 8. No martingales will be allowed in any classes except over fences. Fences not to exceed 2ft 3in. 9. Riders must be suitably attired for all classes. ASTM / SEI approved protective headgear is mandatory in all classes over fences. The C.A.A. encourages the use of protective headgear and will not penalize those riders who choose ASTM/ SEI approved head protection in lieu of traditional hats. 10. NO CHAPS in equitation classes. Does not apply to Leadline Equitation. 11. Fall of horse and/or rider will result in disqualification in that class. 12. Trail classes will be judged over an obstacle course to be set up outside the ring. A maximum of three refusals will be allowed. No Exceptions. Horses are not to be lead or ridden through trail course prior to judging. Not following this rule will result in disqualification of horse and rider from all trail classes. 13. Horses known or suspected of kicking must be identified by a red ribbon in the tail. Any horse or rider behaving in an unsafe manner on the grounds will be asked to leave and will result in disqualification of horse and rider from the show and all entries will be forfeited. 14. Failure to follow posted patterns for trail and over fences will result in disqualification from that class. 15. Cell phones are not permitted in show ring. 16. This horse show will be open to all persons. Age restrictions and classifications are as follows: Leadline - Rider to be 8 years old and under as of 1/1/14. Junior Riders - Riders to be 13 years old and under as of 1/1/14. Senior Riders - Riders to be 14 and over as of 1/1/14. Walk Trot Jr. - Rider to be 10 years old and under as of 1/1/14. Rider must never have shown in any class at any horse show that required a canter or lope. Walk Trot Sr. - Rider to be 11 to 18 years old as of 1/1/14. Rider must never have shown in any class at any horse show that required a canter or lope. Adult Walk Trot - Open to any rider 19 years and over, who has never shown in any class at any horse show requiring a canter of lope. Beginner Riders - Riders must be in their 1st or 2nd year of showing. walk, trot, canter Green Horse - Open to any horse or pony in its first or second year of showing. Green horses may show in other divisions, walk, trot, and canter Color Breed - Open to Appaloosa, POA, Buckskin, Paint, Pinto. If horse does not show coat characteristics then proof of registration will be required.
