The Associate in Arts degree is designed for students who plan to transfer to four-year colleges and universities. This
degree fulfills general education requirements for majors in education, business, social science, and humanities. The
degree will transfer as a block to North Carolina public universities and other institutions which participate in the
Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (CAA). For additional information about this degree and your transfer

According to the Johnston Community College Catalog, the associate in arts degree shall be granted
for planned programs of study consisting of a minimum of 64 and a maximum of 65 semester hours of
college transfer courses.
