What is the project?
YOU are going to be researching and displaying information on the 8 common factors of
ancient India. This is a self-guided project in which you will conduct intensive research
regarding the Indus River Civilizations and the factors that made it so.
Project Requirements:
 Must cover all 8 of the common factors of civilization
o Cities
o Organized Government
o Complex Religion
o Job Specialization
o Social Classes
o Arts and Architecture
o Public Works
o Written Language
 Each factor must have information about the Indus River Civilizations. You can use
bullet points to display the information or in paragraph form; but you need at least 5 facts
for each of the factors.
 Each factor must be represented by some sort of graphic that pertains to the Indus River
Civilization. It can be hand drawn, printed from the internet, etc.; but it should have
color to it.
 ALL information must be in your own words; there is no copy and pasting!
 Research will be done in class, but you are welcome to do research at home
 Project must be creative; think outside of the box – add color, dimension, flaps, etc.
 You have several options as to how you want to display the information and complete the
project
o Poster or trifold
o Make a book or magazine
o Create a foldable using a template given by the teacher
 It must have a sheet that lists the resources you used; this will include title of the resource
and page number you found the information on
 You must complete each of the components of the project packet – this will be your proof
of completing the classwork portion and will be used for a classwork grade
 This project is going to be counted as 2 formal grades and is worth 200 points.
