We hope to see you at HALL 7, FLOOR 1 BOOTH 71C37 Dear We are pleased to invite you to visit our booth at K2013 where we will show a large part of our machine range. This year we have increased our booth space to cover 200 square meters which allows us to show more machines than ever before. We are located in the same Hall 7 as at last K2010 and we are also on the same first floor. Details of our location are given on the last page. The machines that will be on show comprises of the following: 5-layers, 5 extruders Co-Ex film blowing line Page 1 of 15 We hope to see you at HALL 7, FLOOR 1 BOOTH 71C37 The 5 layers co-ex film blowing line features 5 units of our new Narrow Footprint extruders which are designed specifically for co-ex film blowing allowing minimum distance from extruder to die and to use up to 9 extruders to 9 die layers all at floor level. The line will have 3 units of 25 mm and 2 units of 30 mm extruders, all with 30 L/D and with Vector Motor drives Each extruder is equipped with our weighing hopper feeders which has a large touch screen control panel mounted on the central control panel. This system enables a very easy and precise control of the layer thicknesses where you can key in the desired layer thickness in % of total film thickness or in weight units of total weight Our 5 layer Pancake type die is produced in house and made with layer channels designed by our Canadian consultant. The die utilizes channels which are machined both in lower and upper layer halves so that they form a perfect round cross section for optimum flow properties and fast purging. The die lip diameter on the exhibition version is 80 mm and die gap is 1.5 mm Page 2 of 15 We hope to see you at HALL 7, FLOOR 1 BOOTH 71C37 A high cooling efficiency Duplex Airing connected to a large 3 HP variable speed blower. Air ring is equipped with dial gauges for air pressure and temperature. The film tower is of type LF600 Co-Ex with a total Nip Roll width of 600 mm which allows for a lay flat film width of around 550 mm. The tower is equipped with motorized height adjustment and the film bubble is stabilized with 6 rows of Teflon rollers which all are synchronously adjustable and the A-frame is equipped with a multitude of Carbon Fiber rollers. The downside of the tower has a film slitter with driven rubber coated nip-rolls and each half of the split film is wound up on a two-station surface winder. The line is equipped with traditional digital control instruments which are all connected to a central micro processor. With this system all data of the line can be recorded and illustrated on an external PC. The system and software is designed by us in house and offers a low cost alternative to our fully computerized control system. The World’s Smallest Ultra Micro film blowing and cast film and sheet lines Featuring the new Ultra Micro single screw extruder which can be fed with regular pellet sizes Page 5 of 15 We hope to see you at HALL 7, FLOOR 1 BOOTH 71C37 These Ultra Micro Film Blowing and Chill Roll lines will be shown on a common platform using one common extruder which can easily be moved from one line to the other. The extruder, here shown with the 50 mm wide T-die has a conical screw starting with a diameter of 18 mm and ending at 8 mm. The variable speed DC drive has a power of 400W. These amazing small machines are true replicas of our larger film blowing and cast lines and can produce high quality films and are suitable for applications where you have very limited amounts of resins to extrude. They are also very suitable for learning institutes since they are true to much larger lab lines and have a very small foot print. The film blowing line features adjustable tower height by turning a small hand wheel. The bubble cage and A-frame is also adjustable and the nip-rolls which are driven by a variable speed DC motor are spring loaded and can be opened and closed manually. The unit also features a built in film bubble inflation and a centrifugal blower to supply air to the cooling ring. The chill roll line has a T-die with adjustable lips for various film thicknesses. The rolling stack is driven by a variable speed DC motor and a second DC motor drives the wind up unit. Both lines can also be supplied individually with a designated extruder instead of as a combi unit as the one we will show at K. Page 6 of 15 We hope to see you at HALL 7, FLOOR 1 BOOTH 71C37 26 mm twin screw extruder with 52 L/D And with 2 side feeders, water bath and SideCut Pelletizer Our 26 mm, 52 L/D twin screw is equipped with two side feeders as well as 3 gravimetric feeders, one for the main in feed section and the other two for the side feeders. The twin is shown with our fully computerized controls and the gravimetric feeders also have their designated touch screen control panel. This new version of our standard 26 mm twin is equipped with the new gear box with oil circulating pumps as well as oil cooler. The drive is our standard 15 kW version with a max RPM of 800. Same 26 mm twin is also available in the optional MaxiCompounder version which has a high power drive of 22 kW and a max screw RPM of 1200. The two side feeders are mounted on practical swing arms so they can easily be removed and the barrel plugged when not in use. As with all our twins, the 26 mm version shown at K2013 is equipped with a clam shell barrel with our special leak proof design. This barrel version enables you to open up and inspect the screws with the compound still intact so you can visually judge how your compound has been processed along the screws Page 7 of 15 We hope to see you at HALL 7, FLOOR 1 BOOTH 71C37 As with our 16 and 20 mm twins, this 26 mm version features our unique barrel module system with removable wear inserts. The module which contains the cartridge heaters and water cooling channels has a length of 4D and are connected together with bolts. Purposely we have made the modules so that they have a small air gap when bolted together while the barrel inserts themselves are in complete contact to each other. This system enables a larger temperature variance between each barrel module which in turn gives a great flexibility in process difficult polymers. Featuring with this twin is our high efficiency water bath with strand suction water circulating pump and easy adjustable guide rollers as well as our unique Sidecut Pelletizer which can cut anything that a pair of scissors can cut from extremely soft polymers to very rigid engineering plastics. The line will be running at K with a soft SBS resin to show the capability of this pelletizer. 16 mm twin screw extruder type LT16-40 with new forced air cooling of all barrel zones and side feeder Page 8 of 15 We hope to see you at HALL 7, FLOOR 1 BOOTH 71C37 We will show at K 2013 our latest version of our MicroScientific 16 mm corotating twin screw extruder featuring forced air cooling of each barrel zone. This enables a very accurate temperature control of both heating and cooling The twin will also be shown with the new side feeder which is fed in turn by a vibratory hopper feeder. As with the standard 16 mm twin it is made with a complete modular build up of the clam shell barrel, where each barrel section has a length of 4 D. The drive power is 2.2 kW and the twin can be supplied with L/D ratios of up to 60. As with all our twin screw extruders, the barrel is made in a leak proof clam shell version which is split in two halves and can be easily swung open after loosening the barrel bolts. Computerized filter tester with gear pump type LFT34-GP with 20mm single screw extruder type LE20-30/C The filter test body has a streamlined integrated Gear Pump heated with electric cartridge heaters. The gear pump delivers 3 cc/RPM and is driven by an infinite variable speed 1 HP geared AC motor. Programmable inverter controls the speed of the gear pump as well as extruder. Page 9 of 15 We hope to see you at HALL 7, FLOOR 1 BOOTH 71C37 A pressure and melt temperature sensor is inserted in the channel to the gear pump inlet. The pressure sensor is connected to a pressure control instrument that in turn will regulate the extruder screw speed to ensure that it delivers a steady flow of polymer at a constant pressure. A second combined melt temperature and pressure sensor is inserted just before the filter disk location. This will sense very accurately the pressure building up in front of the filter disk as well as the temperature of the melted polymer. The filter tester unit is connected to our 20 mm single screw extruder which enables tests on very small batches. The streamlined filter test head and the small extruder are also very easy to clean so change over from one batch to another can be made very fast. The unit has an on board high capacity PC and all running parameters can be easily keyed in on the practical keyboard. All data can be stored on board as well as downloaded to an external PC. The large screen is showing the pressure build up in real time and will automatically show the Delta P filter pressure value after the test is completed. Hands Free fully Automatic Computerized Two-Roll Mill with Roll Over device We will demonstrate colour matching and quality control on a two roll mill where we will run demonstration during all show days. The mill we have here is our smallest floor model. It is the most popular size for this application; with this mill it is possible to make a complete dispersion of pigments and additives in a polymer during a short time span of only a few minutes, from solid cold pellets to a completely dispersed compound. Page 10 of 15 We hope to see you at HALL 7, FLOOR 1 BOOTH 71C37 The computerized mill we are showing works fully automatically through all mill cycles and all that is needed is to add resin to the rolls and after melting to add the additives. The Roll Over device will turn over the batch on the mill as many times as is needed and the rolls will stop automatically when the batch is completed The world’s first fully electric and fully automatic press with electrically driven cooling platen inserts This laboratory press has no hydraulics and the up stroke pressure is achieved by a ball screw which is driven by a AC gear motor. The press is the first fully electric version in the world which featuring electric driven insert platens as well as computerized touch screen controls with easy to understand graphics. The press has a max pressure of 20 MT and platen sizes of 200 x 200 mm. The mold is here placed on a platform in between the hot pressing platens and the fully automatic press cycle starts with the hot platens clamping the mold and during the hot pressing cycle, the mold can be set to vent by opening and closing the press for a short period. When the hot press cycle is completed, the platens open and the cooling platens are inserted in between the hot platens and the mold. The press is then closed and the cooling platens are now clamping the mold. When the cooling cycle is completed, the press will open and the mold is ready to be removed from the platform. The pressure is sensed by a transducer on the piston and it is set at and shown at any required value up to maximum of 200 KN. Page 11 of 15 We hope to see you at HALL 7, FLOOR 1 BOOTH 71C37 Bench top Mini-mixer with optional temperature read-out, type LMX1.5-VS The Mini Mixers have been given a nice modern design utilizing a very sturdy sub cabinet with integrated control panel.
