(No meeting held in April.) Report from the Dean: Tonight the President is hosting the first cohort of Presidential Doctoral Research Fellows (PDRFs) for dinner at the President’s residence. Colleges are anxious to start advertising and recruiting the PDRFs for next year. Jeff Broadbent has sent a memo to department heads with information about the increase of recruiting grants from $1,000 to $1,500. Shelley Lindauer has read all of the 5-year plans submitted from the departments. She has recorded the changes that departments have put forth. The RGS Executive Team each have also reviewed five or more departmental plans, and, based on the reviews, have selected ten departments to submit applications for the final 2012-2014 PDRF. The proposal to add a Plan B option to the Health Education Specialization in Health and Human Movement degree was approved by the Council. Committee of the Whole: Fellowship/Fulltime Status Concurrent Degrees Advanced Standing Tuition Awards Committee Meeting: A motion that departments use an MOU process, rather than a R401, for concurrent degrees was brought forward, and the Council approved the motion. A motion that the Sociology Department use the R401 process to allow departments to admit graduate students with Advanced Standing in the MSW degree was brought forward, and the Council approved the motion.
