CHS Scholarship 2016
The Cypress Historical Society seeks to raise awareness of local history in the
Cypress community. To this end, CHS is proud to offer two (2) scholarships up to
$1000 each. The Scholarships may be awarded to students interested in History,
Social Sciences, Library Science or Education. The Scholarships will be based on academic merit and on serving the mission of the historical society. Only one scholarship may be awarded to any one student.
Eligibility:

Cypress area resident

Currently enrolled as a senior in the Cy-Fair ISD school; or

Cy-Fair ISD graduate, currently attending a 4-year university or 2-year college
Please include the following when submitting your application:


Official transcript

Two (2) written recommendations from a counselor, teacher, or other nonrelative familiar with the student’s school work and interests (include address, phone number and email address)

An essay of no more than 500 words on how the student has helped further the mission of the Cypress Historical Society

Qualifications:
The Scholarship is available to Cypress residents who are high school seniors currently enrolled in the Cy-Fair Independent School District and/or students currently enrolled at a 4-year university or 2-year college. This is an academic and service-based scholarship.

along with 2) a 500 word essay on how the student has helped further the mission of the Cypress Historical
Society which can also be found on our website, 3) an official transcript, and
