Welcome to Makefield Elementary Orchestra!
My name is Mr. Bailey and I am thrilled to be here at Makefield making music with our fantastic orchestra
students. Over the coming school year our students will develop musical skills that will allow them to succeed
in their lessons and performances, and life skills such as organization, dedication, a strong work ethic, and
listening and social skills that will enable them to succeed outside of the music classroom.
Through the year communicating information home to you and your family will be very important- to do this
most effectively, I will be posting documents and information on our Pennsbury Instrumental Department web

In order to help get information to you in a timely manner, please also take a minute to fill out the “PARENT
INFORMATION FORM” link at the top of the web page.
As the year progresses, we will also have listening assignments posted on our web page, current lesson
schedules will be available there, reminders about topics covered in class, and more about different ways to
succeed in orchestra. If you have ideas for items you think will help your friends share with me! I am always
looking for new resources.
SmartMusic will start to be used in late September- if you have not used this program before I will be happy to
help answer questions. Once SmartMusic gets up and running you will find it helps to give direction to your
practice sessions at home and will help you enjoy your time playing music!
