Pilot Awards to
Improve the
Conduct of
Research (201112) – an "Open
Proposal"
Opportunity NEW
Submit best ideas for improving the
conduct of translational research.
Projects might suggest
improvements to infrastructure, new
services to enable researchers,
pragmatic studies that clarify
competitive benchmarks for key
research processes, etc. Projects
should NOT substitute for core
infrastructure for the campus, or
simply extend an existing research
project that doesn’t fit the criteria for
generalizability and scalability
CTSI using new “Open Proposal”
format to allow for peer review of
submissions
To enable researchers to use new
(to the investigator) technologies or
services available in existing core
facilities at UCSF and affiliated
institutes. Modification of existing
core technologies will also be
considered. These awards are
primarily meant to facilitate the use
of key research tools available in
cores to develop and maintain high
impact, long-term research
programs.
