Delft Energy Start-up Vouchers If we want to solve the looming energy crisis, we have to think laterally. That’s why the DEI Fund is looking for new, crazy ideas for sustainable energy solutions. If you have such an idea and want to become an entrepreneur, apply for a Delft Energy Start-up Voucher. The Delft Energy Initiative Fund might get you the financing needed to make a proof of principle! The Delft Energy Initiative offers a Start-up Voucher of maximum 2500 euro for the making of a ‘proof of principle’ for new technologies for energy savings or for harvesting, conversion or storage of green energy. The ultimate goals should be starting a start-up. A (concept) business plan or proof of principle is a requirement as a deliverable. We welcome other initiatives than proof of principles as well. For example if visiting a conference would enhance the concept, we will take that into consideration. We will not reimburse hours, but would like to help you to come to a business plan. Please keep in mind that we expect a (concept) business plan or proof of concept as a result. A maximum of one Start-up Voucher per student / per project can be approved. The Start-up Voucher is a once-only grant, it is not possible to ask for another voucher after one has been granted. Depending on the subject of your application, one of eight energy professors/theme leaders from various fields/faculties will review the application based on following criteria: ambition to launch a start-up novelty of the idea to which extent it contributes to the energy transition feasibility of the idea financing possibilities: have these been named? What the Delft Energy Startup Fund has to offer 11 vouchers available of 2500 euro (one voucher per idea). Voucher can be spent by reimbursement of costs made for the making of a ‘proof of principle’ or business plan. No personal costs will be reimbursed. Besides, we offer every granted student access to 1.2.launch, a two-day start-up event, of YES!Delft (www.yesdelft.nl/12launch). For who(m)? (Teams of) students/PhD students at TU Delft. What we are looking for and what are we looking at? A ‘proof of principle’ for new technologies for energy savings or for the harvesting, conversion or storage of green energy. The Delft Energy Start-up Voucher does not complement the budget for research projects. The concept should be commercially attractive /should have market opportunities and you should preferably be willing to undertake a start-up business yourself. Relevance for the energy challenge, visibility after completion and originality. We ask for a (concept) business plan or proof of principle as final result.
