1] INTRODUCTION:
We are aiming to build a fully functioning Industry Collaboration Portal where
the placement cell is given the comfort to have a reliable portal to manage all the
needs of handling the crucial job of assisting in the process of job placements to
the students of NIIT University.
A user friendly approach for any Industry to directly communicate with
Placement Cell.
2]OVERALL DESCRIPTION
2.1 Purpose:
Delivering a web portal for NIIT University from a holistic point of view such as:
 Job placement
 Alumni Database
 Discussion forums exclusively regarding job inquiries
 Direct but simplified communication between the placement cell and
students of the university.
 Industry communication with Placement cell
2.2 User Classes and characteristics:






Placement cell officer: Login power and major usage (eg:database
control) of all the functionalities of the portal
Student: View as well as Upload/ Download verified
documents(resumes).
Industry: Can send feedback or discuss via inquiries posted only to
Placement cell.
Alumni: Only verified Alumni can add their information according to their
comfort.
Guest viewers: just viewing capacity given to them as guests.
Administrators: Control of the development of the portal.

Description
The homepage of the portal should have a “Contact us”, “About
us” section stating the particulars of the contact information of
the placement cell of NIIT university as well a short introduction
of NIIT university.
On the homepage of the portal There should be a notification
box for the placement cell to communicate any general news
updates to any viewer of the portal for advertisment purposes.
The Homepage should have a link to the ”Alumni“webpage.
The homepage of the portal sholud have a “Login” section only
for placement cell officers who would have a verified unique id
for their login.
On the main page of the Placement cell officer’s account he/she
should be able to view the existing student databse that
contains all the information of the student(eg: contact details,
resume)
Placement cell officer should be able to accept ,reject and
modify the students information after cross verification of all
the details submitted by the student.
The portal should show the placement officer the summary of
the number of students with complete/incomplete profiles.
Also indicate the number of verified student profiles and non
verified student profiles.
An instant Email based system to enhance the process of
immediate data collection from the students for any uncommon
industry requirement.
The portal should include another emailing system to also
remind the students to update any incomplete or incorrect
details of their profile as per the instructions of the placement
officer.
The portal contains a download link for the students who can
download a “specific data collection document” that predefines
the basic requirements for the placement cell and further the
student can upload their files which is then sent to the
placement cell for verification and further inspection.
The placement officer can view the profile of any particular
student by entering either the name or the roll number in a
selection box.
The mainpage of the placement cell officer’s account should
include a discussion forum between placement cell and industry
for any inquiry from the particular industy .
The Alumni database will have information about the alumni
according to their batch.The information includes a photograph,

name ,batch, stream, current job title, current place of work,
package and contact email.
The alumni database will have an “add” button for any alumni to
