WHAT IS SILVERCLOUD?
Secure, immediate access to online supported
CBT
(cognitive
behavioural
therapy)
programmes. Tailored to patients’ specific
needs – meets IAPT recovery rate targets for
depression and anxiety.
HOW TO REFER A PATIENT TO SILVERCLOUD
IN 2 SIMPLE STEPS …
1. Assess patient suitability for online CBT:
You think your patient has mild to
moderate levels of depression, anxiety or
stress, or could benefit from building selfesteem and positive body image.
They are able to discuss at some level
what the difficulty is.
They feel comfortable using a computer
or a mobile device – but remember they
will have an online supporter.
2. Provide the patient with the (enclosed)
SilverCloud leaflet – this explains what it
is and how to sign-up.
WHY CBT?
In the Isle of Wight annually 13,043 live with
anxiety and depression.
Online CBT provides immediate secure access to
therapy for the patient.
It’s flexible, accessible anytime, anyplace on any
device, 24/7.
CBT can be used successfully as an adjunct to
pharmacotherapy1.

Foundation
Trust
and
Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.
WHY SILVERCLOUD HEALTH IS DIFFERENT
Achieves clinical outcomes equivalent to faceto-face.
3 times increase in engagement vs. competitor
programmes (67% vs. 23%).
Engage hard to reach patients. Being secure and
anonymous has a high engagement rate with
males.
“Mental health care across mental
illness and all its associated morbidities
puts a huge strain on traditional NHS
resources and traditionally trained
front-line practitioners.
It means that we must look to new
technologies, such as online
psychological interventions and
systematic training in psychologicallyinformed practice, in order to meet
patient needs and enable as many of
them as possible to self-care in the
longer-term.”
