Mason, Sr., Th.D Founding and Senior Pastor Scholarship Application 2015-16 GUIDELINES DEADLINE: Sunday, August 16th DESCRIPTION The Bible Fellowship Church of Temple Terrace established its scholarship fund to encourage current, active members of the church to pursue post-secondary, education opportunities; to support and acknowledge academic achievement, leadership potential, and community service. The scholarship monies will be awarded to FTIC (First Time in College or Profession school) students, and to students returning to College/University/Professional schools. The scholarship will be awarded in three tiers, as per points earned, based on the applicant’s Eligibility, Criteria, Application, and Essay: Tier I Living Expenses Stipend (dispensed one time for the academic year) Tier II Book Stipend (dispensed fall and spring semesters in the academic year) Tier III Scholars Scholarship (dispensed fall and spring semesters in the academic year) The BBFCTT Scholarship fund collects monies on a rolling basis, in order that it make yearly awards and dispense monies to every eligible applicant who completes an application. ELIGIBILITY: In order to be considered 1. The applicant must be a current member of BBFCTT, attending worship and Bible Study/or Sunday-school for at least seven (7) months prior to submitting application. NOTE: Students members who attend school outside Tampa and attend when/if home on break are eligible 2. The applicant must be accepted to an accredited, post-secondary educational institution (College/University/Professional School), seeking a certificate, a two or four year degree, for the current academic year. 3. The Applicant must confirm current full-time registration/enrollment status at a post-secondary educational institution, per semester. NOTE: Full-time undergraduate = at least 12 credit hours // Full-time graduate = at least 9 credit hours CRITERIA: In addition to the applicant’s Eligibility 1. The applicant must be active in Ministry at BBFCT (and/or in ministry activities while attending school out of town/state/country) for at least seven (7) months prior to submitting application. The applicant must submit application with required ALL documents-- on, before, but not later than the deadline date. These documents include: Completed application with typed essay Ministry Activity Reference Form and “Start Right to Finish Strong” Attendance Form Copy of current “unofficial” transcript (or final report card) Proof of Registration/Enrollment Students must apply each year up to a maximum of four consecutive years. Bookstore and the BBFCTT office, and via email (edenhancement@bbftt.com) Complete application and submit all supplemental materials in a manila envelope to BBCTT office, or attach file and email to edenhancement@bbftt.com Proof of Registration/ Enrollment Status may be submitted no later than August 23rd Attend the College Kick-off: “Start Right to Finish Strong” info session on Friday, August 7th; 7:00-9:30 pm, in the Fellowship Hall See EE reps, ask questions, submit application SELECTION PROCESS: A BBFCTT Scholarship Selection committee will review applications, tally points, assign Tiers and award recipients. The Scholarship Selection Committee reserves the right to rescind an award should a recipient’s circumstances change (such as failure to go to school, academic failure). All decisions will be confirmed by the Senior Pastor. PAYMENT PEOCESS: Once recipients have been selected checks will be mailed to the recipient’s preferred mailing address.
