Sherilyn White Finally, it is my pleasure to announce the recipient of the Sherilyn White Scholarship for 2013. This is an annual award made in memory of Sherilyn White, a student at St Cuthbert’s and an excellent multisport athlete. Tragically Sherilyn passed away just two months after leaving St Cuthbert’s whilst taking part in a multisport event. Sherilyn had many qualities including sporting and academic excellence, as well as the an ardent adhere to the By Love Serve values that St Cuthbert’s is founded upon. Applicants for the Sherilyn White scholarship are interviewed by a panel and are required to demonstrate these values in the life in the school. The Honours Board in the Sports Centre lists the previous winners of the award, and this list contains the names of some exceptional young ladies who achived highly both in sport and throughout the College. As well as this recognition, the winner also receives a sum of $3,000 to be spent on furthering her sporting career. This year we had 11 applicants, of which five were taken to a short-list. Each of the short-listed applicants submitted outstanding applications, and the decision of the adjudicating panel was a very tough one. The Short-Listed Candidates are Audrey Gregan, Holly White, Una Cahill, Su Arn Kwek and Machaela Tepai. I have pleasure in announcing that the 2013 Sherilyn White Scolarship recipient is….Su Arn Kwek.
