JOB PROFILE AND PERSON SPECIFICATION Job Title Time Banking Network Co-ordinator, Portsmouth Employer Timebanking UK (TBUK) Reports to Timebanking UK CEO Sarah Bird Salary £18,000 per annum Hours 4 days a week (30 hours) for one year Job Purpose The main purpose of this role is to establish a timebanking network across Portsmouth City where service families, serving military personnel and the wider community can exchange knowledge, skills and activities using time as a currency. Part of this role will be to organise training sessions, drop-ins and use other TBUK resources to ensure that the network becomes sustainable focusing on collaboration between time banks and exploring income generation. The network will exist to enable time banks, members, volunteers and stakeholders to meet, collaborate and learn. The network will be co-produced creating equality of access. This project is a partnership between Timebanking UK, The Royal Navy Welfare Department for service personnel and families and Portsmouth Together. The network will operate between the military communities and the voluntary, public and private sectors unleashing social capital and value. This partnership aims to improve the health and wellbeing of local communities as well as military communities which makes them resilient, resourceful and self supporting. This post will: Identify partners and stakeholders who will form the steering group Agree bases at the agreed locations (to include Portsmouth City initially and with the possilbity of extending the network to Gosport, Fareham, Southwick and Lee on Solent. Bring together existing support hubs and projects into one network increasing volunteer opportunities Use coproduction to involve and steer the network aiding long term sustainability Encourage organisations and businesses to swap time offering incentives for time credits Provide training and information on ways of generating income through social enterprise and other fundraising techniques Aim to have involved 200 local people from both the military and local communities at the end of 12 months Assist the production of publicity, social media and other promotional materials The post holder will develop the network across Portsmouth, organise regular events and training days and create a plan for sustainability and monitoring. 1 Main Duties and Responsibilities Developing and co-ordinating the timebanking network Coproduce network with time banks, stakeholders and key partners Developing and implement long term project plan and sustainable infrastructure Awareness raising and clear messaging about benefits of timebanking to military and local communities, businesses and organisations Engage local volunteers to assist with the coproduction of the network and the activities therein Organising regular meetings, events, training days and social activities to encourage involvement and participation amongst local residents and military communities Flexibility and adaptation to changing priorities and deadlines is necessary. Promoting the network Planning and implementing promotional activity to create a positive view of the network Producing promotional material designed to promote the network Addressing organisations and groups including service providers promote the network Effective Administration Keeping clear and accurate records and regular progress reports Maintaining the programme’s filing systems and ensuring complete confidentiality of all information Producing written summaries of meetings, opinions and case studies to feed into national timebanking network Contributing to the evaluation of the programme Work Dimensions The post holder will be able to think creatively, particularly in relation to delivering projects and innovations and brokering cross-sector relationships. The role will involve decision-making around the implementation and development of a successful network. It will also include close collaboration with other partners and stakeholders to deliver outcomes. This role will involve the recruitment of organisations and stakeholders to improve knowledge and understanding of timebanking and how being part of the network can benefit them. All three models of timebanking will be needed to ensure sustainability which will include the reciprocity between both individuals and organisational members.
