This assignment will be completed in class this week and additional time may need to be spent at home.
You must complete three of the below assignment options and you need to select one activity from
each column. Please staple all work to this sheet when you turn this in. Examples: You may choose to
complete the review worksheet, create flash cards for each of the topics, and create a brochure on the
U.S. involvement in the Middle East.
Please see options below and put a start next to the activities you would like to complete. Please also
read the directions listed below for each of these activities.

True/False worksheet- Read the statements on the worksheet. If the statement is true, then write “T”
on the line next to the number. If the statement is false, then write a “F” on the line next to the number
and change the statement to make it true.
Review Worksheet- Answer the questions on the space provided.
Matching Worksheet- Read the statements. If the statement has to do with the Iran-Iraq War, then
write “II” on the line next to the statement. If the statement has to do with Operation Desert Storm then
write “DS” on the line next to the statement. If the statement has to do with the War with Afghanistan
then write “WA” on the line next to the statement. If the statement has to do with the Invasion of Iraq,
then write “I” on the line next to the statement.
Create a Foldable like we did in class for the first three wars. Make sure you include- the three Reasons
US involved with Middle East, Al-Qaeda, OPEC, and Invasion of Iraq War- Operation Iraqi Freedom (You
will have 4 sections instead of three).
Create Flash cards for- Iran-Iraq War, Persian Gulf War- Operation Desert Storm, War with Afghanistan,
Reasons US involved with Middle East, Al-Qaeda, OPEC, and Invasion of Iraq War- Operation Iraqi
Freedom. Put the topic on the front and the important information relating to the topic on the other
side.
Type up your own graphic organizer- You can use the graphic organizers you have already hand-written,
as a template if needed. Create a table in Microsoft Word with two columns. Put your topic on one side
and the important information on the other.
Create a brochure on the United States involvement in the Middle East. The purpose of the brochure is
to provide knowledge to a middle school student. Include information all of the topics we have
discussed with this section (Iran-Iraq War, Persian Gulf War- Operation Desert Storm, War with
Afghanistan, Reasons US involved with Middle East, Al-Qaeda, OPEC, and Invasion of Iraq WarOperation Iraqi Freedom). You may do this on the computer or with the paper provided on the table.
Create a poster for each of the following- Iran-Iraq War, Persian Gulf War- Operation Desert Storm, War
with Afghanistan, Reasons US involved with Middle East, Al-Qaeda, OPEC, and Invasion of Iraq WarOperation Iraqi Freedom on a piece of paper provided on the table. All should include a brief description
of the topic as well as an illustration. You may wish to divide your piece of paper into 4 sections and do 4
of these topics on one side and 4 on the other side of the paper.
Create your own quiz- Using your notes create a quiz for this section. There should be at least 20
questions and there should be no more than 30 questions. Questions should relate to information gone
over in class as well as information provided in your notes. Questions should take on various forms such
as multiple choice, true and false, and matching questions. Please also provide the answers to this quiz
on a separate piece of paper. This can be hand written or typed.
