Director, Waterford Historical Museum and Cultural Center, Waterford, NY (July 2014 to
present)
 Manage the museum collections/exhibits, volunteer staff, and budget. Plan, prepare, and
organize annual programming, exhibits, collections database, and events. Other job
responsibilities include the following: development and implementation of fundraising
activities/strategies, grant writing and administration, preparation/management of
promotional materials, social media, and community outreach.
Historic Preservation and Heritage Development Consultant, Troy, NY (August 2013 to present)
 As a historic preservation and heritage development consultant, I offer a wide variety of services
which include historic preservation, cultural resource management, and heritage-based asset
development related projects. In addition, I prepare and assist in the administration of federal,
state, and local grants that vary from historic preservation, tourism, parks and recreation,
transportation enhancement, and rural development projects.
Adjunct History Instructor, Emma Willard School, Troy, NY (August 2013 to December 2013))
 Taught World Civilization-Classical Mediterranean and Art History courses at a 9th - 12th grade
girls' boarding school.
Historic Preservation Planner/Assistant Director of Community Development, Southeast Tennessee
Development District, Chattanooga, TN (October 2005-July 2013)
 Presented information about historic preservation programs to local governments, non-profit
organizations, and other interested parties within the district’s ten county region. Other duties
included the preparation of National Register nominations, historic preservation grants, assistance
with cultural resource surveys, Section 106 review, preparation of federal historic tax credit
applications, technical assistance with restoration projects, and providing assistance with historic
zoning.
 Served as Assistant Director in the Community Development Department and as the Southeast
Tennessee Tourism Association (SETTA) Director. SETTA promotes and markets its natural,
cultural, and historic assets, as well as, develops and implements heritage tourism
programs in a ten-county region.
Historic Preservation Consultant, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Historic Landmarks Commission
 Completed survey and research reports on a late nineteenth/early twentieth century structures in
Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.

Wrote a thematic essay about the iron industry in Gaston and Lincoln County, N.C. during the
nineteenth century. The essay assisted with a proposed National Register multiple-property
listing for seven iron furnaces.

Conducted a historic survey of mill village homes and Main Street commercial buildings
associated with the Dover Yarn Mill in the Town of Pineville, North Carolina. A
historical/architectural report and preservation plan was produced for and presented to the Town
of Pineville for my graduate thesis project.
Worked as a teaching assistant for two years providing lesson preparation, exam grading, and
tutoring support for UNC Charlotte History Department faculty.
Research Assistant, University of Tennessee at Knoxville (November, 1999-December, 2001)
 Performed phase III archaeological field and lab work on Late Archaic, Middle Woodland,
Mississippian, and Cherokee components in Townsend, Tennessee. Interpreted project tasks and
archaeological techniques to site visitors.
