Year 6: Matthew, Deja, Daniel, Lacey, Alfie, Abbie. Summer Reading Challenge – Mythical Maze: This summer, some of our pupils took part in the summer reading challenge through Essex Library Service. The children had to read a minimum of 6 books during the holiday and answer questions about each book, for each book read, a sticker was awarded, to stick along their maze. Those children who successfully completed the full challenge also received a medal and a certificate. I am really pleased that the certificates arrived this week to present in assembly. Half Term fun at Westfield Stratford Come and meet the Gruffalo, Winnie the Witch and other special guests at a two day event celebrating reading on Monday 27th October and Tuesday 28th October from 10am until 6pm. Outside School Satefy: A kind request that all parents wait when crossing the road. with their children when standing at the roadside and School postbox There is now a school postbox in the Reception area (on the right hand side wall next to the main office hatch). Rather than spend precious time waiting around to see a member of the Office staff, please drop in any letters or payments here. The box will be emptied daily and is locked so cannot be accessed by anyone other than school staff. Website We are in the process of updating the information held on our school website where we hope to include more information of galleries of events and an annual parent calendar of key events. Watch this space... Appointments Could we kindly request that all parents refrain from making non-urgent medical appointments for their children within school hours, as this affects the childrens learning and progress as they miss out on key learning in class. We do fully understand that hospital appointments are more difficult to co-ordinate, however, routine dental appointments or follow up appointments should be made during holiday periods or after school. For all pupils in Years 3 to 6, a reminder that all dinner money and breakfast club money needs to be paid in advance so please make sure this is brought in to the School Office so that your child's account is in credit. Booking forms are available from the main reception or breakfast club. Remember that we will only be taking cash or cheque on Monday mornings until 9.30am. Our new online payment system is available now for you to make payments online. A separate email will be sent to you to explain how to go online to pay and how to download the app to your phone. A reminder that if you do not have a printer at home, we do have copies of all school documents in the school office or in the carousel in the Reception Area.
