live a purposeful life will only become real when we become true image bearers for God.

IMAGINE
GOD CREATED: DO YOU SEE IT? DO YOU LOVE IT? YOU WERE CREATED FOR IT!
STEP INTO GODS STORY TODAY! THE CREATOR WHO CREATES BEAUTIFUL THINGS.
“God Created”
THE GREAT INTRODUCTION OF GOD – Close your eyes and try to think of nothing. A person who is asked to think of nothing
generally cannot do it they will think of a blank background – which is something.
BIG IDEA: God’s Glory Creates Beautiful Beginnings (out of nothing)



Gods glory is the goal of our Salvation
God’s glory is the goal of all things
Gods glory is the source and sum of all full lasting joy
*The closest in terms to God’s glory is his holiness meaning a class by himself in his perfection, greatness, and worth.
John Piper – The Glory of God is the infinite beauty and greatness of his perfection!
Psalm 91:1 “The heavens are telling the glory of God.”
Isaiah 6:3 “The Whole Earth is full of His Glory.”
WHY DID GOD CREATE THE WORLD? WHAT WAS THE PURPOSE OF GOD’S CREATION?
1. GOD CREATED FOR HIS GLORY
*God did not create out of any need, weakness of deficiency.
Jonathan Edwards – Tis no argument of the emptiness or deficiency of a fountain that is inclined to overflow.
DEFINING GLORY: Heavy or weighted, literal the weight of who the pre-existent God was, who He is, and who will be in the future.
*God created out of the Value of His Very Nature: The God that existed before creation was GOOD, TRUE, and BEAUTIFUL. The life
that we experience, everything we love and that inspires us, that thing that gives us goose bumps is a result of the value of God’s
nature.
Who Created God: Everything that has a beginning has a cause. Since God is eternal and has no beginning and no end meaning He
was, and is, and is to come. God is the uncreated creator that created the universe and everything in it. If God needed a cause then
He is not God.
Ex Nihlio (created) – God made the world by mere will of having it appear – without any use of pre-existing materials.
2. GOD CREATED FOR HIS GRACE
*The image of God is a foundational concept for understanding our significance and purpose in life.
Being made in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:27), human beings have the ability to know God and therefore
love Him, worship Him, serve Him, and fellowship with Him. God did not create human beings because He needed them.
“God Created”
Genesis 1:27 “The purpose of an image is to display the original image.” This is why we have 7 billion statues of God so that no one
would miss the point. Rom 1:20-21 “We have seen the creation so that man is without excuse.” Romans 8:29 “Conformed into the
image of His son.”
TRAGEDY: We have exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man. Romans 1:23; 25 “We serve
the creator rather than creator.”
*We don’t glorify God by trying to improve on His Glory.
(The value of the pre-creation God was good True and Beautiful.) we glorify Him when we show His Glory.
o
God knew that His image created in man, would reject His kingship over their lives.
*From Eternity God’s plan was The Glory of God’s Grace.
Rev. 13:8 “The Book of Life”
2 Cor. 4:4 “The world blinded the eyes of unbelievers.”
Jer. 31:3 “I have loved you with an everlasting love.”
CHARACTER AND ATTRIBUTES OF GOD
o
God is a God of Love – and love must be showered on the object of that love.
o
God created man in His image to hold the capacity to respond to God’s love or reject His love.
HOMOSEXUALITY: The entire storyline of history are at stake.
The Beatles Principle: “All you need is Love.”
We want to change the notes of the composition taking the pattern He formed for man and woman and shape them
into our own design.
It's hard to deny that homosexual marriage appears to be a foregone conclusion in America. This is a frightening prospect not only
for those of us who understand marriage to be a testimony of the relationship between Christ and his bride, the church, but also
for all who value the family and its contribution to the well-being of society and human thriving. (Voddie, Baucham)
*We talk as if marriage is an individual matter! Ephesians 5 What about the church and Christ, the Bride and
Groom
*Temporary world with sin permeating it temporarily postponement of God’s ultimate plan.
We do not take the truth and hide it – we are to be the light of the world!
IMAGINE:
“God Created”
Do You see it? Do You Love it? You were made for this!
Everything is pointing to that beautiful beginning that God created for His Glory.
Live your life this week beyond the temporary world and embrace His Eternal Plan for Creation.
