FACT SHEET TRAVELLING EXHIBITIONS QUESTACON – THE NATIONAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY CENTRE HAS A RANGE OF TRAVELLING EXHIBITIONS FOR HIRE TO SUIT ALL VENUES AND BUDGETS. THESE EXHIBITIONS TOUR NATIONALLY AND INTERNATIONALLY, VISITING SCIENCE CENTRES, MUSEUMS, REGIONAL GALLERIES, SHOPPING CENTRES AND COMMUNITY FESTIVALS. Questacon has over twenty years’ experience in building and touring exhibitions for the Australian and world markets, with each exhibition specifically constructed to be easily crated for shipping across Australia and around the world. During 2013–14, six exhibitions toured to six Australian venues reaching 560 257 visitors. Questacon’s full suite of travelling exhibitions is listed below. Imagination Factory—invent and play will have the gears of the mind spinning by investigating the creativity behind basic mechanical tools such as gears, levers, cams and pulleys. Fascinating Science is a portable hands-on exhibition which explores the scientific principles relevant to everyday life including logic, balance, fluids, illusions and mathematical puzzles. Mathamazing, Questacon’s newest travelling exhibition, shows visitors that maths can be fun and inspiring through exploration of a range of mathematical concepts. Measure Island examines the concepts of measurement, measurement systems and techniques and helps the visitor discover the importance of measurement in daily life. Perception Deception explores perception and the senses with interactive exhibits, multimedia activities, visual illusions and perception tests. Science on the Move provides visitors with a hands-on experience while discovering more about music and sound, human biology, light, force, motion, electricity, ecology, health and genetics. Our Water engages and inspires visitors to expand their understanding of Australia’s unique water situation. This interactive exhibition explores the themes of agriculture, urban water, and recycling and water sustainability.
