Lamyuru to Padum trek, Trekking Tours
Region: South, Ladakh- Zanskar.
Grade: Tough.
Altitude: 4808mts, 4964mts.
Period: 15 June 15 sept.
Duration: 15 days:
This trek is most enchanting and adventurous as you have to cross 8 passes in 11 days trekking. The trek starts from Lamayuru and ends
at Padum (capital of Zanskar) from where you will drive back to Leh via Rangdom and Kargil. In this trek you will spend first seven days
in Ladakh and rest four days in Zanskar.
Day 01: Arrive Leh
Arrive Leh, transfer to hotel. Day is at complete leisure to get you fully acclimatize with the altitude. Overnighte at hotel in Leh. (3500
m)
Days 02: Drive Leh – Alchi – Lamayuru.
Drive early morning to Lamayuru, enroute visit Alchi. It is situated at a distance of 62 Km from Leh. Alchi monastery was built by
Lotsava Rinchen Zangpo (The great translator) 1000 years ago and is considered to be the most famous and largest among the entire
monastery built by him. After visit Alchi, drive to Lamayuru which is 70 Km from Alchi. Lamayuru monastery was constructed by
Arahat Nimagung in between 10th and 11th century. In the 11th century the Mahasidha Naropa visited this site and the cave where he
resided and meditated is still to be seen there inside the monastery. Overnight at camp in Lamayuru.
Days 03: Trek Lamayuru – Wanla - Tarchit (3350m) (5 hrs)
After breakfast, start trek from the camp. After the fields, turn left following the narrow stream downward. This route will take you to
the Prinkitila Pass (3725m). From here, follow the gorge until you enter into the Shillakong valley. The non metallic road towards left
from here goes to Wanla village and towards right goes in to the Shillakong gorge. From this point, you can see the monastery of Wanla
(Red Coloured Gompa) on the top of the hill above the village which is still about 2/3 km. away. Visit Wanla Monastery which is also the
oldest and one among the monastries founded by Lotsava Rinchen Zangpo about 1000 years ago. Overnight at camp.
Days 04: Trek Wanla – Phanjila – Hanupatta (7 hrs)
After breakfast, star easy walk up to Phanjila. From Phanjila take right side valley then follow left bank of the river until end of the
valley. Pass the village of Hanupatta and about 1 km ahead is the camping site on the either side of the river. Overnight at camp.
Days 05: Trek Hanupatta – Sirisir-la (4805m) – Photoksar (7 hrs)
Start trek early from Hanupatta camp. Cross the river and follow the trek upstream along the right side. From here the pass of Sirsir-la
(4805m) is about 3 to 4 hours. Cross the Tang river and start to ascend the pass along the left side. For lunch, it should be planned to
cross the Sirsirla, because, it is not advisable to ascend the pass after having lunch. The camp at Photoksar is before the village and can
be put either side of the small river. Overnight at camp.
Days 06: Trek Photoksar – Boumitse-la (4200m) – Base of Singey-la (7 hrs)
After breakfast, continue trek. Today you have to cross one easy pass. Right from the camp, start ascend for few meter and then
continue along the clear path.beatiful view of village Photoksar and surrounding mountains and gorge. Carry on ascending up to top of
Boumitse-la, From the pass you can directly see the Singela Pass which is about more than three hours trek from this point. Until the
base of Singe-la, you have to cross several small streams so advisable to carry extra pair of stockings in case you get wet. Overnight in
camp at base of Singe-La.
Days 07: Trek Base of Singe-la – Singe-la (4960m) – Kyukpa-la (3850) – Skyumphatta.
Right from the camp, start ascending up to top of Singe-la. It is easy to ascend but 1200m before the top, it is steep ascend in zigzag.
From the pass, the route descends steeply to a loose boulder strewn area. This is called Champado Gongma. Continue along the right
side of the valley, clear path up to village Skyumphatta. Beautiful and awesome view of landscape of the valley. Follow the beaten track
to the Kyukpa-la Pass (3850m), easy ascend. Easy descend from the pass about 300m. and cross a clear water stream. Camp near of
above the stream. Overnight: Camp at Skyumphatta village.
Days 08: Trek Skyumpatta – Lingshed – Hanamu-la Base (7 ½ hrs)
From Skyumpatta follow the trail and start ascending the Netuksila pass. It is a long ascent and advice to carry enough water as you
could not find water until the camp. From the pass again follow the well-defined route to Lingshed. Visit the Lingshet monastery which
is very interesting with the old statues. Lingshed monastery is constructed on the top of hill by Lotsava Rinchen Zangpo (the translator).
The deity can be viewed once in a year 15th day of 4th Tibetan month. After visit Lingshed, continue towards the Hanamu-la Base by
crossing the small bridge. Pass the village by ascending along the right side. Overnight at camp. (4000m)
Days 09: Trek Hanamu-La Base – Hanamu-La (4700m) – Zingchen (7 ½ hrs.)
After breakfast, start to climb the pass which is in Zig-Zag. Arrive at top of the pass, you have a wonderful view of Landscape. Cross the
pass and continue descending for 20 minutes and there is good and flat area to have Lunch. After having Lunch, continue descending.
After descending steep, you eventually reach near a river, cross the river and arrive at camp. Overnight at camp in Zingchen. (3550m)
Days 10: Zingchen – Parfila (3900m) – Hanamur village (6 hrs)
Start the trek along the downstream of the river up to the Stupa from where you start to climb to the Parfila. Cross the pass, here on top
of the pass, you have a amazing and lovely view of Landscape. You will see for the first time the Zanskar River on your left. The camp is
another two hours in the tree grove of Hanamur village. Overnight at camp. (3600m)
Day 11: Trek Hanamur – Pidmo – Pishu – Zangla (5/6 hrs)
From here the route is following the Right Bank of the Zanskar River until the village of Pishu On the way you pass through the village
Pidmo and Pastureland. Here you may find some Yaks and domestic animals.
Day 12: Drive Zangla – Stongde – Padum –Karsha.
Today you have full day culture tour around Padum by drive. Morning after breakfast, drive to Stongde village. Visit beautiful
picturesque monastery built on hill top by Lama Marpa 950 years ago.Approximately 60 monks are residing in this monastery. After the
visit, continue drive to Karsha (Pair of White i.e., Outer white and Inner white). Visit Karsha monastery. This monastery is the largest of
all the monastery in Zanskar and this monastery (Gonpa) was first founded by Great Lama Phagspa Shesrap (the translator of Zanskar).
From the monastery, you have amazing and spectacular view of the capital of zanskar (Padum) and its surrounding mountains. After
the visit explore Padum (The capital of Zanskar). Overnight in Padum.
Day 13: Drive Padum – Rangdum – Kargil (245km)
Today you drive Padum to Kargil (245km). You have long journey but enroute you have unforgettable, enchanting and awesome view of
landscape of Suru valley and its surrounding magnificient mountain peaks. As usual, morning after breakfast, drive to Kargil. Enroute
visit Rangdum monastery and cross Pentsi-la (4400m). After crossing the Pentse-la pass. You continue drive and then your first glace
will be Rangdum monastery. History says that Gelek Yashy Takpa built this picturesque monastery on hill top about 200 years ago. This
monastery is physically located in the Suru Valley and culturally it is part of Zanskar. From the monastery, you have wonderful
panoramic view of landscape and Randum village. After the visit, drive to Rangdum village where you find some restaurants. Take some
refresment and then continue drive to Kargil. You have the view of highest mountain peak in the region Nun(7035m) and Kun(7180m)
and you pass across several beautiful and charming villages (inhabitants are almost Muslim) of Kargil Distric. Arrive Kargil. Overnight
at hotel in Kargil. (2900m)
Day 14: Drive Kargil – Mulbek – Leh (225kms / 7hrs)
Morning after breakfast, drive to Leh visiting Mulbek chamba (Rock curved statue of Maitreya Buddha). Today you drive on SrinagarLeh highway till Leh. Spectacular and magnificien view of landscape and its beautiful mountains like pillar in the blue sky. You pass
across many beautiful and charming villages of Ladakh. Arrive Mulbek and visit 9m high rock curved statue of Maitreya Buddha. After
the visit continue drive to Leh via crossing Photo-la. Arrive Leh. Overnight at Hotel in Leh.
Day 15: Flight Leh – Delhi
Early morning transfer to Airport and fly back to Home with sweet memories of Ladakh.
Lamayuru to Alchi trek Trekking Tours
Region: West, Ladakh.
Grade: Moderate.
Altitude: Tar la pass 4901 mts.
Period: May to October
Duration: 08 Days / 07 Nights.
Destinations Covered: Leh – Lamayuru - Wanla – Base of Tarla - Tar - Mang Gyu - Alchi – Leh.
Day 01: Delhi - Leh: Arrival at Leh Airport our representative would assist you at the Airport and transfer to Hotel. Check in to the
hotel. Post breakfast rest of the day for rest for acclimatization. Later in the afternoon a walk around Leh town (3500m) includes a visit
to Leh Market, Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa - This walk shall help us in a getting acclimatized at this height. Overnight stay at the
hotel.
Day 02: Leh -Lamayuru (3 ½ hrs drive) -We leave Leh in the morning for Lamayuru. Along the way, we come across some of the
oldest and most famous monasteries in Ladakh, founded around 11th century by Lotsawa Rinchen Sangpo Lamayuru, Likir
and Alchi offer truly memorable visits on account of their age and history. After reaching Lamayuru (3420m) we will spend the day
exploring the ancient monastery and to prepare for the next day.
Day 03: Lamayuru - Wanla (3-4 hrs) - We pack our small backpacks, watch the horses get ready, and set off for this first day of our
adventure. A gentle trail leads up to the small pass of Prinkti La (3750m) before heading down to the village of Shilla and the last 3 km
to Wanla (3250m).Here we set up camp for the night and spend the afternoon relaxing in the sun or exploring the gompa in Wanla,
before we gather around for a good dinner.
Day 04: Wanla -base of Tarla 4200 m (8 hrs) -Today we will follow the dusty road along the river's left bank and arrive at the
small village of Phenjilla (3410 m). From Phenjilla, we will follow the left side of the valley along a small stream for around a hour
and arrive at the scattered Ursi village .We will walk a little further to arrive at our campsite.
Day 05: Base of Tarla -Tar (6-7 hrs) - The trail from the camp is clear but challenging, as we will have to trek up and down a few
times before reaching the Tarla (5250 m).Our hard labor will be rewarded with the splendid view of the mountains around. Climbing
down is difficult due to a mass of fallen rocks strewn about. It takes 3-4 hrs for us to reach our campsite at the village of Tar.
Day 06: Tar -Mang Gyu (4-5 hrs) -From Tar, the path heads up along the mountainside to a small Pass. We will have a easy descent
to Mang Gyu village ,where there are traditional Ladakhi houses and a Ancient monastery worth visiting. It is believed that the
monasteries of the Mang Gyu and Alchi were built on the same day.
Day 07: Mang Gyu - Alchi (4/5 hrs trek) - Leh (3hrs drive) - We will end our last day by walking down a very beautiful arrow
valley covered with rosebushes all along the path. We will reach the village of Gera, where we'll find our vehicle waiting to take us back
to Leh. But before that we will visit the beautiful and famous monasteries of Alchi and Likir. Alchi, is Ladakh's most loved
monastery. Over a century old, its wall paintings are very similar to those of the Tabo gompa in Spiti, Himachal Pradesh. Unlike
other monasteries which are usually on a cliff top or cling to a mountainside, Alchi is at ground level an is nestled in the shade of a
garden. Later we drive to Likir and visitLikir gompa situated atop a windy cliff top overlooking the beautiful village of Likir. It was
founded in the 12th Century although the preset construction dates back to the 18th century as the original one was destroyed by fire. In
its courtyard is yellow-coloured 3-storey high mammoth statue of the Lord Buddha, which was constructed by a resident monk. The top
floor has an impressive museum containing old thangkas and weapons used many centuries back. We reach Leh by evening. Upon
arrival in Leh we check in at our pre-arranged hotel for an over night stay.
Day 08: In Leh – Early morning transfer to air port and fly back to home with sweet memories of Ladakh.
Lamayuru to Chilling Trek
Region: West, Ladakh.
Grade: Moderate.
Altitude: Tarla 4901 mts.
Period: June to October.
Duration: 07 Days
Places to Visit: Lamayuru - Wanla - Hinju - Sumda Doksa - Dung Dung Chan La base - Chilling.
Day 01: Delhi - Leh:

Day 02: Leh - Lamayuru 3420m - Wanla 3250 m (3 hrs)
We will leave Leh by taxi in the morning for Lamayuru, following the Indus River through Sham Valley. After visiting Lamayuru
monastery, we will pack our backpacks and set off for our first day's adventure. We will follow a stream for a time, and gradually climb
up to the pass of Prinkti La (3750m). We will later pass through the small village of Shilla (3700 m) before reaching our campsite at
Wanla (3250m), where we will spend the afternoon either relaxing in the sun or visiting the monastery.
Day 03: Wanla - Hinju 3720m (4-5 hrs)
Following a dusty road we will reach the small village of Phenjilla (3410 m) and the scattered village of Ursi. We will then walk through
a narrow gorge until we reach a traditional Rangthak (flour mill) at the far end of the village The trail will then cut through the village of
Hinju (3720 m), roughly 2 km below our campsite in a yak herder’s encampment.
Day 04: Hinju - Sumda Doksa 4430m (5-6 hrs)
From the encampment, we will continue along the trail and ascend the ridge below Kongskil La (4950m). If lucky, we will get glimpses
of some wild lives. We will then climb gradually until we reach Kongskil La, where we will be surrounded by dizzying views of the
Karakoram and Stok ranges. The descent down the trail is quite steep, with loose moraine causing the difficulty - so be careful! The trail
then follows the left side of valley floor, passing a yak herders’ hut (4500m), before we reach our campsite. This valley is occupied
mainly by the villagers of Sumda Chenmo.
Day 05: Sumda Doksa - Dung Dung Chan la base 4430m (4-5 hrs)
After a short walk and a few river crossings, we will reach the village of Sumda Chenmo. From there we head towards the true left side of
the valley, which provides as beautiful view of the village, with its lush greenery. Further on, the trail cuts through the valley’s wild rose
bushes and leads us to another river crossing (this stream originates from the high snow-capped peaks of Photoksar (5685m). Before
making a steep, challenging ascent over Lanak, we will see Edelweiss and some of the other rare wild flowers of Ladakh. From the
campsite, there is a splendid view of Konskila.
Day 06: Dung Dung Chan La base - Chilling (3550m) (5 hrs)
We will begin the day with a straightforward climb to Dungdung Chan La (4820m), which offers views of the beautiful vistas of the Stok
Range in the east, and the Zanskar Range in the south. From the pass, the trail gradually descends down a ridge toward the valley,
continually tapering before reaching the village of Chilling. Chilling is the only village in Ladakh that has provided metal works such as
copper, bronze, tin, silver and iron to the Leh market through the centuries. From Chilling, we will drive for about 3 hours along the
Zanskar River back to Leh. We can enjoy the beautiful colour of both Zanskar and Indus rivers when both gets combined at Nimmo
village of Leh.
Day 07: Leh – Delhi:
Early morning transfer to air port and fly back to home with sweet memories of Ladakh.
Markha valley trek
Region: South-East, Ladakh.
Grade: Moderate.
Altitude: Kongmaru La pass 5182 mts.
Period: May to Oct.
Duration: 12 Days
Places to Visit: Leh - Spituk - Zinchen - Yurutse - Ganda La - Skiu - Markha - Hankar - Nimaling - Kongmaru La Shang Sumdo - Hemis - Thiksey - Shey.
This wilderness trail skirts the hi-altitude Hemis National Park with its abundance of wild life and heads through far flung villages with
lush green fields of barley and potato the chief crops in the region. These tiny oasis appear as welcome sights as you traverse an
otherwise stark barren landscape. Far to the northwest extend excellent views of the mighty Karakorum mountain ranges.
Day 01: Delhi - Leh (3500 m)

of the day for rest for acclimatization. Later in the afternoon a walk around Leh town (3500m) includes a visit to Leh Market, Leh

Day 02: Leh - Spituk - Zinchen (3200 m) in 4 h
We drive 10 km to Spituk from where we start our trek. We cross Indus river and enter in the Valley of Zinchen river. Near the village in
the Valley we will have our first camp after 4 hr walk.
Day 03: Zinchen -Yurutse (3844 m) in 5h
After by passing this beautiful stopping valley, we ascent up to 4900 m. by very steep zigzag, difficult footpath, by now it is 3 h. Now
steep descent to summer pastures of Stok and follow the river which comes from Stok - Kangri massif.
Day 04: Yurutse - Ganda La (4900 m) - Skiu (3510 m) in 6/7 h
Yurutse follow path along the mountainside, then cross a small valley and follow zig zag steep path. Thereafter cross Gandala. Then long
descent towards Shingo. After 2 Hrs. descent arrive in the valley of Markha and then after few hundred meters further will reach Skiu.
Day 05: Skiu - Markha (3850 m) in 7 h
From Skiu, follow a good path on the right bank of Markha where one can find great vegetation. Then cross right bank of river and cross
through barren plain and arrive at Chaluk. Thereafter walk along the left bank of river and after another crossing climb towards Markha
village. Good camp site beyond the village and near river.
Day 06: Markha - Hankar (4000 m) in 4 h
Start trek towards the main valley on the right bank. The path is sometimes difficult in the river bed and pass the monastery of
Humlung. Then carry on trek along the right bank and arrive in Hankar where there are several houses.
Day 07: Hankar - Nimaling (4650 m) in 4 h
The path improves and cross a broad valley on the right side. The valley becomes narrow and higher and cross bridges on to the left
bank and then reaches Tchatchuste. We climb pastures to reach Nimaling. This is one of most beautiful high valleys in Ladakh
dominated by the Kang Yaze.
Day 08: Nimaling - Kongmaru La (5150 m) - Shang Sumdo (3750 m) in 7 h
Cross the Markha valley and follow long climb along the mountain side, then zig zag road leads towards Kongmarula. Follow steep
descent into gorges and then keep walking on the left bank to Chukirmo. Thereafter crossing right and left bank and arrive Shang, a
beautiful camp in groves and there is a monastery an hour away from the village.
Day 09: Shang Sumdo - Hemis (3600 m) in 3/4 h
Hemis is the most important monastery of Ladakh, 360 years old. The gigantic Tankha, one of the largest in the world, is displayed once
in 12 years. Last was in 1992.
Day 11: Hemis - Thiksey - Shey - Leh
We visit Hemis monastery, then drive to Shey Monastery. This one has a 7.5m copper statue of Buddha plated with gold, the largest of
its kind. We drive to Thikshy Monastery, situated on a hill top. There are several temples and wall paintings of Buddha. Close by is the
summer palace of the old raja of Leh. This monastery is 800 years old, Silver and Gold statues are seen in it.
Day 12: Leh – Delhi:
Early morning transfer to air port and fly back to home with sweet memories of Ladakh.
SHAM VALLEY TREEKING
Region: West- south of Leh.
Grade: Moderate
Altitude: 3,750 Mtrs Period: March to December.
Duration: 9 Days.
Through the Indus valley and the ancient kingdom of Sham, we will discover the main Ladakhi monasteries and the wonderful sites
surrounding them: Shey, Thiksey, Hemis, Spitok, Phyang, Lamayuru and Alchi are all accessible by road, and Temisgang, Ridzong and
Likir line the trekking route. This itinerary is of moderate difficulty and the path does not rise above 4500m. The trail crosses numerous
villages where the people have kept their Tibetan ladakhi ways and customs.
Day 1: Delhi- Leh

Day 02: Leh-Likir
Tour of Basgo, Alchi, and Likir Gompas. Camp at Likir.
DAY 03: LIKIR-YANGTHANG (3650m) 5-6 HRS TREK :
Morning commence drive to Likir en route visit Phyang gompa. Continuer drive to Likir (58 km from Leh), visit Likir Monastery than
further drive to starting point of the trek. Likir Village (3650 mts.) is the starting point of our trek. Although the distance is short, the
route is warm, without any shade or water and we need to traverse two passes. From Likir the route heads west up to Phobe La (3580m)
and beyond this lies Sumdo village. The trail goes steadily upwards till you get to Chagatse La (3630m). Across the pass is the village of
Yangthang (3650m) where we camp for the night, next to a stream. Overnight at camp.
DAY 04: YANGTHANG-HEMIS SHUKPACHEN, 3750 M, 4-5 HRS TREK :
After breakfast commence an easy trail, despite the pass because both the approach and the descent are of gentle gradients. The trail
heads north, descending for a bit, crossing a stream before climbing up west again to Tsermangchen La (3750m). After a short rest at
the pass we head down to Hemis Shukpachen. The village, named after the grove of cedars, is one of Ladakh’s prettiest. There are
several sparkling streams surrounded by shady willows and large barley fields that provide a touch of green to the otherwise desolate,
rocky mountains. Overnight at camp.
DAY 05: HEMIS SHUKPACHEN-ANG 3250M, 5-6 HRS TREK :
Again this is a fairly easy day. The trail goes upward between two hillocks west of the village upwards until it veers south and climbs
steeply up to the Mebtak La (3750m) marked by prayer flags. From the pass we head down the gorge to Ang, a charming village with
apricot orchards, where we camp for the night.
DAY 06: ANG-THEMISGANG-NURLA: 3-4 HRS TREK-DRIVE LAMAYURU or DRIVE BACK TO LEH. 3270M: After breakfast
start our easy trail to road head, it’s downhill all the way on to the main road. From Temisgam there would be a taxi waiting to take to
you Lamayuru 2 hrs drive. Rest of the time visit Lamayuru monastery. Overnight at camp.
Day 07: LAMAYURU-WANLA 3250 m, 4-5 HRS TREK:
Today we pack our backpacks, watch the horses get ready, & set off for this our real adventure. A gentle trail leads up to the small pass of
Prinkti La (3750 m) before heading down to the village of Shilla & the last 3 km to Wanla (3250 m). Here we set up Camp for the night
& spend the afternoon relaxing in the sun or exploring the monastery in Wanla. Overnight Camp.
Day 08: WANLA TO LEH 3 HRS BY CAR.
After breakfast drive back to Leh along with Indus river and enroute visit world famous Buddhist painting Alchi Monastery and village.
Overnight hotel.
Day 09: Departure Transfer.
Early morning transfer to air port and fly back to home with sweet memories of Ladakh.
Spituk –Stok Trek
Day 01: Delhi – Leh
Early in morning flight from Delhi gets to Leh in less than two hours. From the airport you would be transferred to a
hotel. Where they would be housed on full board. Leh is at an altitudeof 3500 mts. And all guests are advised to rest for
the entire day. A successful trek in Ladakh requires you to acclimatize well Early in the morning transfer to airport. From
here catch a flight for Leh. Upon arrival at Leh transfer to hotel for full day acclimatization. Dinner and overnight stay at
the hotel/guest house.
Leh: Leh is the fascinating capital of the Autonomous Hill Council of Ladakh, also known as Little Tibet. The important
monasteries to visit in and around Leh are Shey, Thiksey, Hemis, Spituk, Samkhar as well as the Shanti Stupa, Stok
Palace and main Bazaar. The Leh palace dominating the town was the former home of the Namgyal Dynasty. The
monastic festivals are very popular and Hemis, Phyang and Lamayaro festivals in summer are visited by lot of tourists
who throng to see the Cham Dances.
Day 02: Leh
Full day sight seeing at Leh covering Hemis, Shey and Thiksey Monastery.
Shey Gompa is about 15 kms from Leh. It used to be the summer palace of the kings of Ladakh. There are lots of
Stupas and Gompas built around the palace. Shey palace was built by Deldan Namgyal in the beginning of 17’Th century
AD. Main attraction in Shey is the 12m Shakyamuni Buddha statue inside the Dresthang Gompa.
Thiksey Gompa, close to Shey is about 17 kms from Leh. The monastery is considered to be one of the most beautiful

Hemis, about 45 kms south of Leh it is one of the most famous and largest monastery in Ladakh. It belongs to the
Drukpa order and was founded in the early 17’Th century. The setting is perfect with the monastery cradled in a lovely
valley, surrounded by streams and fronted by long Mani walls. Overnight stay at the guest house.
Day 03: Leh – Spituk - Zingchen In the morning after breakfast drive to Spituk (8 kms). From here the trek
traditionally starts at the bridge over the Indus about a kilometer west of Spituk Village. However, a jeepable road slated
to connect Spituk runs nearly all the way to Zingchan. Upon arrival at Zingchan set out a campsite for dinner and
overnight stay. Evening explore the area.
Day 04: Rumbak – Stokla – Camp Site
In the morning after breakfast you will ascend the 4,900-m. Stok Pass also known as the Namlung La. If you are fit and
have camped at the plateau just under the pass as all do, you should have no problem climbing up to the pass. One can
climb steadily and made it in less than 1.5 hrs. From the campsite walk up east for 10 mins and on your right you will
find a path zigzagging up the mountain. At first it looks quite steep. Don’t worry.soon crosses over the cleft to the left
and heads up east at a less troubling gradient all the way to the pass. Dinner and overnight stay in tent.
Day 05: Camp Site – Stok – Leh
Today is an easy day going downhill all the way. Follow the stream on its left bank as it heads north. The path is broad
and easy. You will find willows and wild roses growing on islands in the middle of the stream which grows quite wide as
you approach Stok. Visit the Stok Palace, residence of the king of Ladakh after he was.
Day 06: Leh – Delhi
Depart for Delhi by the morning flight. For the more adventurous a drive to either Manali or Srinagar can also be
arranged on request. The road journey is covered in two days with an overnight halt at either Sarchu, which lies on the
Leh-Manali highway, or Kargil, which lies on the Leh-Srinagar highway.
