determine eligibility for special education services, recommend intervention
strategies, act as Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) facilitator, provide
staff training, assist campus with state assessment issues.
LSSP/Educational Diagnostician, Leander ISD, Evaluated students to determine
eligibility for special education services, recommended intervention strategies,
acted as ARD facilitator, participated in district continuous improvement
committees about transition, functional vocational evaluation, supported
employment, the student centered ARD process, and served on the steering
committee for two 18-22 year old programs.
Transition Coordinator, Texas Commission for the Blind, Managed the
statewide Transition Program, which serves approximately 1200 blind and
multiply-disabled youth between the ages of 13 and 23, managed a $2,000,000
annual budget, sponsored between 30 and 35 workshops, camps, and seminars
annually that focused on career exploration and developing the skills for success
in the workplace, hosted several summer work programs, served on interagency
committees such as the Transition Memorandum of Understanding Committee,
and the School to Careers Interagency Management Team, presented at state and
national conferences, and evaluated grant proposals.
Associate Clinical Psychologist, Texas Commission for the Blind, Provided
psychological and vocational evaluations for consumers of vocational
rehabilitation services throughout many regions of the state, including south
Texas and the valley, made recommendations regarding training and
accommodation needs, gathered data for test development, managed a research
data base, analyzed research data, trained evaluators on test administration
procedures, data gathering, and blindness issues, acted as team leader.
