Verb Timeline Project – Due Thursday/Friday, Dec. 20/21, 2012
Nomen mihi est ______________________
Part I – Verb Timelines
You will choose 4 verbs, one from each conjugation. For each verb, you will provide a verb timeline, listing all the
forms of that verb in the following tenses: present, imperfect, perfect and pluperfect. For one verb form in each
tense in each timeline, you will provide 3 different and correct English translations.
Part II – Explanations
You will explain how to form each of the four tenses, in each of the 4 conjugations. Explain how to find the stem,
what the endings are, and how to add the endings to the stem. You will need to discuss principal parts, stem
vowels (aka linking vowels), and personal endings in your explanations. You can organize your explanations by
tense or by conjugation, whichever you prefer.
Projects should be done on white or colored xerox paper or on poster board (please limit to ½ size). Notebook
paper is not appropriate for projects. Multipage projects may be assembled as a flipchart or booklet. Projects may
be handwritten or typed (be aware that most word processors will try to “auto-correct” your conjugations and
those “corrections” will most likely be considered errors when I grade them). Color should be strategically used to
enhance understanding or to group like elements to facilitate comprehension. Random decoration should be
limited. Please include a proper title (Verb Review Project) on the front of your project and put your name on the
back of your project. Projects should not exceed 6 pages.
Project Schedule
