CAMPUS ART DUBAI 2.0 MEMBER PROGRAMME Campus Art Dubai is an alternative “school” for artists, curators, writers, cultural producers, and art workers based in the UAE. CAD is dedicated to proving a space for critical thinking and the exchange of ideas and skills. Participants are encouraged to collaborate, debate, and challenge. Campus Art Dubai is part of Art Dubai’s educational programming and is held in partnership with Dubai Culture and Arts Authority. Campus Art Dubai includes monthly lectures, talks, workshops, and panel discussions involving local and international critics, curators, artists, arts professionals and others, which shed light on particular tensions and focal points within the contemporary art world at large. Through a series of workshops, participants will have access to key figures in the local arts community who will help to develop skills and portfolios as well as an understanding of regional art history and the context for their work. This year’s workshops include a focus on art and film, through a collaboration with the Dubai International Film Festival, plus practical sessions that help you develop your skills in presenting and writing about your work. These workshops are usually on Saturdays and open only to Members of Campus Art Dubai on a first-come first-served sign-up basis. Occasional community events are designed to help you meet like-minded practitioners and perhaps begin your collaborative ventures. The programme also includes talks and seminars, typically taking place on a Sunday evening and are open to Membership programme participants as well as CORE participants, and occasionally also to the public. Additionally, private tours and previews to exhibitions and events will take place as they become available. CAD 2.0 Membership programme is generously hosted by a number of not-for-profit spaces in the UAE, including thejamjar, Satellite, AlSerkal Avenue, among others.
