Plasan Carbon Composites JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Production Associate DEPARTMENT: Manufacturing LOCATION: Walker NEW X REVISED : APPROVAL DATE: March 24, 2012 FLSA STATUS: Non exempt EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Fulltime LAST UPDATE: REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor JOB SUMMARY The Production Associate will be required to be multi-skilled and multi-functional in a variety of manufacturing tasks. It will be expected that the Production Associate will be cross-trained and become competent in the tasks of Kit-Cut, Lay-Up/Press/De-Mold, Router, Sander, Primer, Bonder, Finish, Autoclave, and Autoclave Lay-Up ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Follows work instructions to: o load kit cut table with carbon fiber per specifications. o operate CNC machine per specifications. o lay-up composite parts per specifications o operate press per specifications o de-mold parts per specifications o load and unload router per specifications o load and unload sander per specifications o load and unload bonder per specifications o hand buff and sand products to prepare for paint line per specifications o bag mold after lay-up for use with the autoclave per specifications o Load and unload paint line per specifications Identify imperfections in product by utilizing sight and/or touch Ability to understand and properly mix the ad-tech filler Ability to safely operate power equipment such as DA orbital sander/buffer. Accurately use various types of compounds and sandpapers Maintain the Team environment through open communication. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Production: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and color vision. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Production: An ability to work in a sometimes-chaotic environment with deadlines and time pressure is important. Flexibility is essential with changing work demands and hours. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals if in the production area of the plant. Work with composites materials including, but not limited to epoxies and urethanes, along with various fiber reinforcements including but not limited to carbon fiber and fiberglass. Temperature extremes (hot/cold) are inherit to the manufacturing environment.
