Draw or insert a picture of what your mystery animal looks like.
I don’t get what to do on the first question because its not letting me click the link , but I still did the
rest.
Journal Questions:
1.
What is the difference between a genotype and a phenotype. The genotype is the actual copies
of the gene (recessive, dominant, etc.) in each diploid organism; the phenotype is how the genes
show up in one's appearance, as you indicate
Typically, one form of a gene is dominant over another. As a simple example, if one gene
controlled eye color (it's actually much more complicated), and if brown were dominant over blue,
then your genotype could be brown/brown, or brown/blue, and your phenotype would still be
brown. Only if your genotype were blue/blue would your phenotype also be blue.
2. How are alleles and traits related? Explain using an example. alleles is one (1) member of a pair
or seires of genes and trait is two (2) different kinds of alles.
3. In pea plants, purple flower color (P) is a dominant allele, while white flower color (p) is a
recessive allele. that all of the offspring will have the pp genotype meaning that all of the offspring
will have the phenotype of white flowers.
4. If a pea plant has the genotype Pp, what is its phenotype? Explain your answer. The phenotype
will be whatever "P" represents. It is the dominant trait, so it will show. BUT, they will be a carrier
or the "p" trait, and can pass it on to offspring.
