The School/Student/Parent Compact of Cliftondale Elementary was developed in conjunction with parents, teachers and our community
partners and is revised annually. Cliftondale Elementary School is committed to the education and development of its students in
accordance with the system goals set by Fulton County Schools.
District Goals: By 2017: 90% of FCS students will graduate on time; 85% of FCS’s seniors will be eligible for admission to a University
System of Georgia college or university; and 100% of FCS graduates will be work-ready certified.
Schoolwide Goals: At Cliftondale, we will work to improve student performance in Reading and Math. Our goal is to increase Reading
performance with an emphasis on Reading for Information for every Kindergarten through 5 th grade student. The goal for Math is to
increase growth for every student in the areas of Numerical Operations and Measurement and Data Analysis. We look forward to creating
a partnership to support our students in achieving these goals.
School Administration/Staff will:









Provide a high quality curriculum (Scholastic Leveled Readers and Scott Foresman Math) in accordance with the Common Core
Georgia Performance Standards (CCGPS) taught by a highly qualified faculty and supported by experienced staff.
Teach all aspects of reading to include Reading for Information through Guided Reading strategies and also targeted areas of need
in Math through Guided Math lessons. These methods are taught on a daily basis through group instruction.
Communicate regularly with parents and students about student progress, academic extended learning opportunities and school
programs through Thursday folders, progress reports and report cards.
Provide a Parent Resource Center, monthly workshops and Reading and Math activities that promote academic achievement
among students and provide methods for parents to support students at home. Programs include, but are not limited to Math
Night and Curriculum Night.
Provide Parent/Teacher conferences each semester.
Provide parents with classroom observation and volunteer opportunities.
Will provide information to parents to build their capacity to help their children meet stated goals in Reading and Math with
brochures, Math and Reading Kits and online school subscriptions.
Will ensure that parents have reasonable access to teachers and school administration.
Provide Parent/Teacher conferences each semester.
Students will:



Read and complete quizzes on non-fiction books on a weekly basis by using subscriptions such as Tumblebooks, Reading Eggs
and/or Scholastic Leveled Readers.
Use subscriptions, such as Scootpad, to practice Math strategies at home provided by Cliftondale for each student to use via
internet at home.
Complete Math and Reading homework/projects on time in order to support student success in Math and Reading.
Parents/Guardians will:




Allow my student(s) to become actively involved in real world math activities such as counting change at the store.
Attend a Parent/Teacher conference each semester.
Attend at least 50% of the parent workshops or school academic programs and events to include Math Night, Curriculum Night,
and/or monthly Parent Workshops.
Spend time daily with my student(s) reviewing homework and daily assignments in Math and Reading.
