Introducing the QualityPath Program
The QualityPath program is an initiative set forth by The Alliance to help you:
 Identify doctors and hospitals that – when working together – are at or above national
standards for delivering quality care for total hip replacement, knee replacement and
coronary artery bypass graft.
 Focus on non-emergency surgical procedures that are scheduled in a manner that allows
patients to "shop" for care (total hip replacement, knee replacement or coronary artery
bypass surgery).
 Give you and your family members access to information and easy-to-use tools that can
be used to select high-quality health care doctors and hospitals for specific procedures.
With this new program, you as a health care consumer can access quality doctors and hospitals
at little to no cost for your upcoming high-stakes procedure.

Understanding the Components of the QualityPath Program
The QualityPath program developed by The Alliance® is an initiative to help consumers get highquality health care. The Alliance has done the work for you by researching and evaluating
doctors and hospitals that - when working together - meet proven standards for delivering
quality care for selected procedures.
QualityPath will focus on non-emergency care (total hip replacement, knee replacement and
coronary artery bypass graft), which means you have time to “shop.” The components listed
below show what makes QualityPath a desired choice for you:
 A Better Patient Experience – QualityPath will link you to your very own Patient
Experience Manager. You must call the Patient Experience Manager to receive the
benefits of the QualityPath program. The Patient Experience Manager will then help you
make appointments, transfer medical records and guide you through the QualityPath
process.
 Quality Care –QualityPath doctors and hospitals have met or exceeded evidence-based
thresholds for quality care, which made them eligible to become a QualityPath provider.
 100-Percent Coverage of Medical Procedure Costs – QualityPath patients will benefit
from 100 percent coverage of medical care before surgery, for the surgery, and postsurgical care. Please note that special provisions may affect plans with health saving
accounts.
 90-Day Warranty – You will receive a warranty that covers care for avoidable
complications related to your surgery. To qualify for the warranty you must comply with
your doctor’s recommendations for post-surgical care and therapy.
Overall, QualityPath aims to help you get better, faster. Learn more by visiting

The Best Treatment is Found Not by Chance, But by Choice
When it’s time to address an issue, whether it’s your hip, your heart or your knee QualityPath
can help. QualityPath was developed by The Alliance, our provider network, which did the
research to show you the choices that can lead to a better patient experience.
As a patient, you may think it is hard to find credible, easy-to-understand information about
quality and price for specific procedures. The Alliance boils down this information to offer clear
guidance to you or your family members who are enrolled in our eligible health plan.
You and your family members can use QualityPath information to select a doctor and health
care hospital that – when working together – have proven their ability to meet quality standards
and have agreed to provide care at a fair price.
This means you receive high-quality care and a 90-day warranty that covers care for
complications. We know big decisions lie ahead, so let The Alliance guide you down the right
path.
