2nd Enumeration
Correction
In this textbook, divide words only at the recommended point.
Note: To reinforce dividing words only at recommended points within words, changes are being made to
numerous words on pages 75, 142, 197, and 262. Please use the new PDFs available at this site for these pages.
“Diff” at the top of column 2 should be deleted from the student book.
In columns 5, 7, and 9, all instances of “1” to “+” and all instances of “2“ should be “-.”
In column 5, the heading 1/2% should actually read +/- %
That change will affect almost every entry in columns 5, 7, and 9.

datum
Changes were made to words on lines 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, and 13 so that words appear with preferred divisions.
Line 1: The word “council” should be counsel.
At the end of the paragraph, the words should be reversed: “…and then change the comma to a colon.”
“South” should be spelled out.
“30” should be inserted after “March.” “…on or before March 30 if you…”
The name “Swartz” should be Schwartz.
“e-mail” should not be capitalized.
The final example at the bottom of the page should be deleted.
“Most” should be underlined, with an “S” over it. “Passengers” should not.
“Arrive” is spelled incorrectly.
“phon-ics”
“parallel” should be spelled and marked par-al-lel.
Changes were made to words on lines 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, and 12 so words appear with preferred divisions.
Add quotation marks needed at the beginning of the sentence an after “report.” The corrected page will read: “
“Can you attend a meeting at 8 a.m. . . . your report?” Ric asked.
Con-gratu-la-tions
Changes were made to other words on lines 1, 2, 4 and 9 so words appear with preferred divisions.
11-14 should read 11-4.
The data file for 11-4 was unintentionally left off your student data CD. Look for it on the book’s website.
The second enumerated item should be followed by a question mark.
