College of Nursing and Health Admission Requirements Approved Admission Requirements for Traditional BSN Program Effective Fall 2012 Proposed Admission Requirements for Traditional BSN Program Effective Fall 2014 Students entering the College of Nursing and Health must meet the following to be admitted to the Traditional BSN program: In addition to the current admission requirements (posted on the left), add a new direct from high school (DFHS) direct admit option to admit students as PreNursing majors in the college. All students must meet similar college undergraduate Traditional BSN admission requirements to become fully admitted to the College (with some exceptions as noted below).* 1. Submit application to CONH for fall or spring admit by the posted deadlines (May 15 for fall semester; Sept 15 for spring semester). 2. Successfully complete the following courses with a grade of ‘C’ or better: Anatomy 2100 Anatomy 2120 English 1100 Psychology 1010 Psychology 3410 Chemistry 1020 Biology 1050, 1070, 1120, or 1150 Statistics 1600 3. In meeting the admission prerequisite courses or progression requirements, Students may repeat any natural science course once (ANT 2100, 2120; BIO 1050, 1070, 1120, 1150; CHM 101, 1020; HLT 3400, M&I 2200) Only two natural sciences courses may be repeated All natural science courses must be current (taken within 5 years of acceptance into the program) 4. Achievement of minimum composite score of 80% on the English language, science, and math modules of the HESI A2 Entrance exam. 5. Completion of all admission prerequisite courses (in #1 above) with a minimum 2.75 GPA. 6. Completion of all undergraduate coursework with a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA. Submit clean/clear BCI and FBI criminal records checks. 7. Successful completion of a state approved Nurse Aide course prior to the first nursing course. 8. An interview with an admission panel is required. DFHS Admit: 1. Submit application to CONH for fall or spring DFHS admit by the posted deadlines (May 15 for fall semester; Sept 15 for spring semester). 2. Minimum of 3.25 high school GPA 3. Minimum 22 ACT OR 1030 SAT 4. Complete application process for consideration for full admission as a nursing major when the following have been completed: a. Successfully complete the following courses with a grade of ‘C’ or better: Anatomy 2100 Anatomy 2120 English 1100 Psychology 1010 Psychology 3410 Chemistry 1020 Biology 1050, 1070, 1120, or 1150 Statistics 1600 5.
