THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE LENGTH OF PRODUCTIVE LIFE AND THE BODY CONFORMATION TRAITS IN COWS The levels of milk productivity can be affected by the length of productive life of dairy cow. And the length of productive life of dairy cow affected by two factors. First, the length of productive affected by milk production at first lactation, year of culling and the age of first calving. The body, feet, legs and udder conformation is the conformation straits that impacted the length of productive life as a second factors. And the aim of this study is to find out the factors that affected the length productive life of dairy cow and the relationship between conformation traits and the length of productive life of the Slovak Simmental breed To calculate the length of productivity life at first factor, the writer use simple linier model (GLM procedure) Yijkl = μ + Poi + Plj + Ok + Dvl + Rvm + b1(mlieko)ijklm + b2(vek)ijklm + eijklm. To calculate the length of productivity life at second factor, the writer use simple linier model (GLM procedure) Yijklm = μ + RTi + Oj + Kk + Vl + CVm + eijklmn The analysis after calculated shows that all the investigated factors considerably affect the length of productive life. The length of productive life was significantly affected by year of culling, the age at first calving and reason of culling. The length of productive life was considerably affected by the farm, the farm management and the sire. And the latest show that the selection to longevity impact to the length of productive life, including breeding values and breeding programmes for longevity. The analysis show that the body frame considerably affect to the length of productive life. In many experiment noted that the higher longevity in Simmental breed cow is medium or small body size. From the calculation we can conclude that: the cow with longer rump length, deep, medium or small body frame, with a higher body cubage and longer body, have longer productive life the cow with drier obstruction joint and correctly structured in foot and fetlock, as well as the desired correct position rear legs set, reach longer productive life The dairy cows with less shallow, well attached udder, wide and long rear udder and mean teats length reached higher productive life The result from this study that the length of productive life in Slovak Simmentals breed influenced by milk production at first lactation, year of culling, age at firs calving and breeding bull. And the other factors are body frame, legs and udder conformation.
