Hello Preceptor,
I was referred to you by __________________. Please allow me to briefly introduce myself. I
recently returned to school and am enrolled in a Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse
Practitioner track, at the Frontier Nursing University (FNU).
FNU is a distance learning school that has a long history of making it possible for students to pursue
his/her educational goal within his/her own community. As such, I have the privilege of completing
my clinical practicum in my community with local master practitioners. Upon graduation I can stay

I obtained my BSN from the University of Kentucky in 1986. I have worked predominantly in the
local health department. This experience drove me to continue my education as I am dedicated to
serving the underserved populations. I have attached my CV to give you additional insight into my
experience.
