Short Curriculum:
Domenico Frattini received his BSc in Chemical Engineering on the “Use of oleaginous microorganism for
biodiesel synthesis” in December 2008 and MSc in Chemical Engineering on the “Catalytic gasification of
biomass pellets in a fluidized bed pilot-scale reactor” in March 2012, both from
University of Naples Federico II. During his MSc thesis, he had a pre-graduation
trainee at CNR – Institute for Research on Combustion. He won a post-graduate
scholarships in the R&D Project “FCSMARTGEN – Hybrid-polygeneration platforms for
fossil fuels/renewable sources” in July 2012 at University of Naples Parthenope. Since
2013, he is a Ph.D. Student in Industrial Engineering – Materials Science and
Technology at University of Naples Parthenope. He is also involved in teaching and
tutorial activities for BSc students (2013) and in European R&D projects (FSE-PON
2007-2013 financing programme) on Fuel Cells, Materials for Energy and Water
Management (2014).
His main research topics are in the field of Materials Science and Technology, Fuel Cell Application and
Energy Storage Systems: Innovative concretes for thermal energy storage systems, Phase change materials
for concrete artificial aggregates, application of geopolymeric concretes to SHTES. FEM simulation of TES
modules. Chemically modified electrodes for Microbial Fuel Cells, Cementitious composites, Hydrides for
hydrogen storage. Materials Characterization: Thermal Characterization, X-Ray Diffraction, Infrared Fourier
Transform Spectroscopy, Electric/Microstructural Characterization, CHN determination, laser granulometry.
