Invitation Letter of "The Fourth International
Symposium on Traditional Culture
and Ecological Civilization"

"The Fourth International Symposium on Traditional Culture and Ecological
Civilization", which has been included in the 2013 major events plan of MEP,
is to be held by CSES in collaboration with relevant academic bodies and
organizations on October 19th -21st, 2013 in Beijing (enrolled on 18th), with
the approval of CAST .
The 18th National Congress of CPC explicitly raises the position of ecological
civilization construction to a national strategic level, and regards it as the
important content of China's social and economic development in the future.
The meeting will extensively discuss related issues of ecological civilization,
with focus on looking for ecological wisdom from China's traditional culture
and resolving problems in economic development and ecological civilization
construction. The meeting will combine China's traditional culture with
ecological civilization and give full play and make full use of the essence of
China's traditional culture to serve for human being's progress and
development, as well as new environmental protection and construction. The
meeting hopes that participants could be able to stand on the highest point of
history, to examine human being's culture and civilization development from
the perspective of global win-win, to inherit and develop the essence of
China's outstanding cultural heritage with scientific, justice and dialectical
point of view, to dynamically integrate the traditional oriental speculation
with modern cultural science and modern civilization to guide people's

behavior, and to create a new ecological civilization in which human being
and nature develop harmoniously.
It is the responsibility and obligation of the whole society to promote
ecological civilization construction with excellent traditional culture, and we
wish this discussion could contribute useful advice and wisdom to promoting
the harmonious development of human society.
