Position Responsibilities & Duties

or health conditions and with key stakeholders.




Work the same hours of work as the job seeker receiving support and training
until competent in their job and are integrated into the workforce.
Adhere to the Employer dress standards, Occupational Health and Safety
procedures when supporting a job seeker. Act in a professional manner when
liaising with Employers and Job Seekers.
Discuss with Manager any job seekers the Consultant feels are not ‘work
ready’, requiring instead pre-employment training. If confirmed, refer
consumer to an appropriate service.
Notify job seeker of, and ensure they understand the organisation policies and
procedures, particularly confidentiality, and inclusion of advocate/s and
grievance procedures.
Communication





High level of verbal, written and listening communication skills are required
including interviewing, assessment and planning skills.
Conduct all job seeker, employer and network interactions with high level of
customer service.
Liaise with other operational staff and local employers to monitor job seeker
activities and opportunities.
Liaise closely with other service providers including Training Institutions in
order to maintain knowledge of and influence activities available to job
seekers.
Participate in relevant industry conferences and training.
Documentation & Compliance









Completion of documentation is required as per DEEWR contracts and/or Job
Placement Ltd work procedures and quality and compliance standards.
Record and maintain detailed file notes and progress reporting in accordance
with DEEWR guidelines and Job Placement Ltd policies and procedures.
Documentation must be accurate, up t-to-date and submitted in a timely
manner.
Provide a service which meets the Disability Service Standards and other
associated Quality Systems and compliance requirements (including Job
Placement Ltd Quality systems, DEEWR Code of Conduct and Service
Guarantee).
Record and provide to employers only information relevant to the job seekers
employment prospects.
Update job seeker file of any medication or major life changes and completed
training courses.
Participate in an annual performance appraisal and review of position
description.
Conform to standard office hours (8.30am-5.00pm) to a minimum of 160 hours
worked per 4 week cycle when not involved in job seeker training.
Confirm with Manager the taking of accrued rostered days off.

continuity of care for the job seeker.

Critical Success Factors:
The Employment Assistant Phase is the period following the completion of
the Initial Interview and Registration up until a job is secured.
Staff will be appraised by taking the following factors into consideration:
 A minimum of 1560 billable hours per year.
 The number of job seekers successfully placed for a 10 consecutive day
period. (12)
 The number of job seekers successfully placed for a 13 week period (12).
 The number of job seekers successfully placed for a 26 week period (8-12).
 Ability to keep Management Information Systems current (File Notes:
previous week’s time in by Monday 5pm).
 EPP’s complete and up to date.
 Knowledge of JPL’s Policies and Procedures.
 Ability to address the Disability Service Standards.
