GBLC Terms of Use
Student Lounge
Locations
 The Financial Accelerator is located on the first floor of 100 Constitution Plaza (UConn Graduate Business
Learning Center/GBLC) across the lobby from the School of Business main office. The Financial
Accelerator is to be used for quiet study.
 The Observation Deck is located on the 2nd Floor of 100 Constitution Plaza. The Observation Deck is to be
used for team work and socializing.
Availability
 Financial Accelerator (1st Floor)
o Mondays through Fridays - 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
o Saturdays - 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
o Sundays - CLOSED
 Observation Deck (2nd Floor)
o Mondays through Fridays - 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
o Saturdays and Sundays - CLOSED
 The GBLC, Parking Garage, Financial Accelerator and Observation Deck are CLOSED on Sundays and on
the following major holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving

Usage
 Financial Accelerator (1st Floor) is to be used for quiet study. GBLC faculty/staff have offices within the
Financial Accelerator. Student Teams (FA, SMF, SCOPE) use the Financial Accelerator for project
work/meetings. Please exit the Financial Accelerator if you need to use a cell phone. Be respectful of
others’ need for a quiet work space when using the Financial Accelerator.
 Observation Deck (2nd Floor) is to be used for team work/meetings and socializing.
 In order to keep our facility clean, please help us by disposing of all garbage and food containers in the
waste baskets provided on each floor.
Restrictions/Closures
 Students will not have access to the Financial Accelerator and/or Observation Deck on the days/evenings
that events/meetings are scheduled in the Financial Accelerator and/or Observation Deck. Closures of
these areas will include days/evenings that the areas must be set up, cleaned or torn down for
events/meetings.
 Signs will be posted on the doors into the Financial Accelerator and/or Observation Deck stating the
days/times that these areas are closed for meetings/events.
Access
 Swipe your building access card on the card reader (black box with red light) to the right of the door into the
Financial Accelerator and Observation Deck during the times that these areas are open for use. When the
light turns green on the card reader, open the door.
Kitchen Areas
 On Floors 1 and 2, there are kitchen areas for your use containing a sink, refrigerator(s) and microwave(s).
 In order to keep our facility clean, please help us by disposing of all garbage and food containers in the
waste baskets provided on each floor.
 Label/Date food left in the refrigerators and dispose of spoiled food.

Conference Rooms




Conference Rooms at the GBLC are available to students when they are not reserved by faculty, staff,
external clients or sanctioned student teams.
Only the following student teams may reserve conference rooms for team meetings – Financial
Accelerator, SCOPE and Student Managed Fund.
Reservation signs will be posted on the conference room door or the client will bring a room reservation
confirmation to the conference room. Please be courteous and understanding when asked to leave the
room if it is reserved.

waste baskets provided on each floor.
Computer/Printer/Copier Use



In the Financial Accelerator Floor (1st Floor), students may use:
o The computers and Bloomberg Terminals
o The scan function on the copier. The code for scanning is posted on the wall above the copier.
o Students may print to the copier from the computers in the Financial Accelerator. Instructions for
printing are next to the copier.
Students may use the printers outside Computer Labs 306 and 406. To print to these printers, students
must use the computers in the Computer Labs.
For copies, students should contact their Program Managers (see list below).
Lost and Found

Please go to the 1st floor Main Office during office hours to inquire about lost items. The Main Office is open
Mondays through Thursdays 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Fridays 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The office is
CLOSED on Saturdays.
