Michael Fox, Assistant to the President and Chief of Staff; Secretary to the Board of Visitors - College of William and Mary
Michael received his B.A. from the University of Virginia with a major in History and a minor in International Relations. After graduation, he worked for U.S. Congressman
Herb Bateman in Washington and his district offices and Virginia State Senator Tommy
Norment in Richmond and Williamsburg. He joined the College in February 1997 as
Director of Government and Community Relations in the Office of Public Affairs and assumed his current position in the President's Office on July 1, 2002. Current responsibilities include working closely with the President of the College, the Chancellor of the College and the members of the Board of Visitors to manage their needs and plans. He works closely with the Office of University Events in planning and coordinating VIP visits and other special events involving the College. As Secretary to the Board of Visitors, he is responsible for planning all Board meetings, ensuring the meetings are conducted in compliance with the Freedom of Information Act. Active in community affairs, Michael has served as President of the Williamsburg Area Chamber of Commerce and is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Chamber.
He is a past chair of the Williamsburg Regional Library Board of Trustees and presently serves on the boards of Walsingham Academy and The Old Point National Bank. He previously served as a Board member of the United Way of Williamsburg and the
Williamsburg Community Foundation.
