Born with a rare condition called biliary atresia, 8-year-old Brayden would have died shortly
before his first birthday without a liver transplant. Now, seven years after receiving that gift
from an organ donor, his life is miraculously normal.
April is National Donate Life Month — a time to build awareness for organ, tissue, eye, marrow
and blood donation across America. Becoming a donor is an incredible and noble gift because
you can give someone a second chance at life. Someone like Brayden.
As the home of the Wisconsin Donor Network and the Wisconsin Tissue Bank, BloodCenter of
Wisconsin would like to encourage you to donate life by registering to be an organ, tissue and
eye donor. As always, we also encourage you to join the Be The Match Marrow Donor Registry,
as well as give the unique gift of blood donation.
“Brayden is always skipping, smiling and laughing,” says his mom, Brenda. “He’s got this way
about him that tells you he just loves life. None of it would have been possible without organ
and blood donors. We thank them for every second of living that Brayden enjoys so much.”
