Applied Instructional Strategies
We did this activity after we presented and explained our Instructional Strategies PowerPoint.
Each student finds a partner to work with on a given scenario. You and your partner much think
about what instructional methods you will use to teach your given topic and thinking about your
student with exceptionalities. Each group has a given topic and student with exceptionalities. The
goal of these assignment is to get future teacher thinking about how to meet the needs of all their
students in term of instructional strategies. There are 6 scenarios that follow.

You are a 7th grade science teacher introducing students to the Periodic Table of
Elements. Use at least three instructional methods to create an activity that will engage middle
school students. Keep in mind, you must accommodate for a student in your classroom that has
ADHD. Have fun!
