Classifying Organisms- Compare and Contrast Cierra Wyatt Main Idea The main idea of the story is that there are many ways to classify organisms. You can put them into many different classes. There are also two main classes, vertebrates and invertebrates. Vertebrates are animals with backbones. In vertebrates are animals without backbones. Along time ago, Lewis and Clark came back with all kinds of discoveries. Scientists didn’t know how to classify all of them so they were all put into either animals or plants. Compare and ContrastVertebrates and Invertebrates Both vertebrates and invertebrates are classes. Vertebrates are animals with backbones. Invertebrates are animals without backbones. Animals who are vertebrates are birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, and mammals. Animals that don’t have a backbone are arthropods, spiders, mollusks, and insects. Both consist of animals.
