THEME: All About Me
UNIT: Self-help Skills
Key Measure: I can take care of my personal needs because I have skills that help me.
Dear Parents,
This week has been a fun one, packed with learning, getting adjusted and making new
friends. I've enjoyed getting to know each student better! Under the big topic or "theme"
of All About Me, we focused on the Unit "Self-help Skills." The units will change weekly.
Each activity I plan reinforces the "Key Measure" (or concept) in which I want the children
to eventually demonstrate competency. The purpose of my weekly newsletter is to give
parents an overview of my lessons, center activities and group experiences which are
designed to build understanding and skill in the performance objectives (which are in bold
type below). This week I want you to know the specific meaning of each performance
objective. Understand that these objectives are only a FRACTION of the kinds of things
we will cover. Beginning next week, my newsletters will tell you more about the actual
learning activities in which your child participated.

*Our students wear Jenks t-shirts for school spirit on Fridays - optional.
*I've received 5 photos for our bulletin board and would like the other 15 as soon as possible! Cute
kids!
*Have you used our Recycling bin yet? It’s for magazines, office/classroom discards and newspapers
(no cardboard). It’s located in the North oval lot off of 101st. Our school earns money when our
