Additional rules for the Junior Dairy Show Rules 1. This show is open to FFA, FFCLA and 4-H Club members between the ages of 9 and 19 who are ACTIVE Benton County members in Good Standing at the time of nomination/entry as well as time of the fair. 2. All animals of one class within a breed will be called to the arena at one time, judging will be Junior Show then Open Show. 1st and 2nd place winners of Junior Show will automatically be placed into the Open Show if there is competition in the Open Show. 3. Animals must be bona fide property of the exhibitor and must have been owned by July 12, 2013. Registration paper must be in the exhibitor’s name. 4. Showmanship: Exhibitors must have shown an animal in the Junior Show. Exhibitors must also show their own animal and not someone else’s animal. Animals must be properly clipped, cleaned and fitted. Exhibitors should wear clean clothes, white shirts, and preferably a white pair of pants. Junior and Open Dairy Classes Class A 1. Junior Heifer (March 1, 2013 to May 31, 2013) 2. Department 4C - Commercial Heifers Junior Show Superintendents: Charlene Newell 644-5859 Tim Crawley 291-4552 and 524-2893 Ownership Date: July 12, 2013 Commercial Heifer Show Rules 1. Commercial Dairy Heifer classes 28 and 29 open to FFA, FFCLA and 4-H Club members between the ages of 5 and 19 who are ACTIVE Benton County members in Good Standing at the time of nomination/entry as well as the fair. 2. Exhibitors are limited to one entry in each commercial dairy heifer class. 3. All dairy crossbreeds and purebred non-registered heifers will be eligible for the Commercial Dairy Heifer classes. Animals must exhibit dairy characteristics. 4. Commercial Dairy Heifers will be classified as to class entry at the time of nomination. Nomination will be held June 21, 2013 in conjunction with the 4-State Invitational Dairy Days at the Benton County Fairgrounds. On that day the identification number on the animal (uniform series metal ear tag, permanent ear tag, or tattoo) will be recorded. 5. Commercial dairy heifers will be eligible for the Junior Livestock Auction, providing they meet the Sale Committee’s guidelines. 6. See General Livestock Rules concerning health papers.
