IN LESOTHO (Southern Africa)----Conducted various training courses including field orientation programme in the field of Hydrogeological investigations for ground water exploration with special emphasis on pumping of ground water manually from shallow dug wells and irrigation of farm lands using non-conventional energy sources and rain water harvesting schemes to all the Engineers working with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security. The training programme was sponsored by Food & Agriculture Organisation (United Nations), Lesotho. HIGHLIGHTS / SPECIAL PROJECTS EXECUTED IN ERITREA & LESOTHO ERITREA (N.E. Africa) – 1. Revival of ‘sick dams’ by pumping water from water logged area around the dams. 2. Recharging of ground water by rain water harvesting system in Alla valley. INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP A special workshop was conducted by F.A.O. of the United Nations on 11th May 2001 in DECEMHARE city of ERITREA on my report on “Recharging of ground water by rain water harvesting system in ALLA valley. The report was highly appreciated and accepted in concluding session. It was later on executed in ALLA valley. NATIONAL LEVEL TELEVISION COVERAGE A National Level Television coverage was made by the State of Eritrea on my scientific work of solving the irrigation problem by ground water exploration. LESOTHO ( Southern Africa ) – A community based low cost project using non-conventional energy source was executed in BOTHABOTHE District of Lesotho. The project was unique, having pumping of ground water manually from a shallow dug well constructed by the community under my technical guidance. The irrigation of the farmland was being made without using any conventional source of energy (Wind Mill Energy). SEVERAL OTHER PROJECTS ON GROUND WATER EXPLORATION & MANAGEMENT, RAIN WATER HARVESING, RECHARGING OF GROUND WATER BY RAIN WATER HARVESTING, PUMPING OF GROUND WATER BY NON –CONVENTIONAL ENERGY SOURCES i.e WIND MILL SYSTEMS & TRADITIONAL INDIAN DHEKUL METHOD, CONSTRUCTION OF MINOR CHECK DAMS, REVIVAL OF SICK DAMS ETC DURING LAST 35 YEARS OF SERVICE AS EXPLORATION GEOPHYSICIST. SPECIALISATION: SANITARY PROTECTION OF DUG WELLS, TUBEWELLS AND OTHER WATER BODIES FOR SAFE DRINKING WATER TO AVOID CONATMINATION OF POLLUTED WATER/ZONES AND THUS TO AVOID WATERBORNE DISEASES. ELECTRICAL RESISTIVITY SURVEY TO PINPOINTING THE FEASIBLE SITES FOR TUBEWELL CONSTRUCTION FOR IRRIGATION & DRINKING PURPOSES. 11 Languages & Degree of Proficiency : Language Speaking Reading Writing English Excellent Excellent Excellent Hindi Excellent Excellent Excellent 12.
