The event will now be held from the Royal International Convention Centre at the RNA Showgrounds. This is directly across the road from the former venue. Interchange staff (the organiser) will be monitoring the venue to ensure that UQ staff stay within their allocated area OH&S guidelines dictate that all thoroughfares must be clear of UQ staff (and prospective students) at all times Under the terms & conditions of the event, UQ staff are to take direction from Interchange staff (the expo organisers) STUDENT AMBASSADORS To assist faculty, school and division staff, 1-2 Student Ambassadors from the relevant faculty will be assigned to each pod to assist with answering course related questions. Your information stand must be manned by UQ staff at all times throughout the two day event, taking into account lunch breaks for staff. SEMINARS The 2015 seminar schedule will be made available shortly at the following location: http://www.tsxpo.org/seminars.php Please note that faculty seminar presenters are responsible for organising their own presentations and School Liaison will not have copies of presentations on hand. REFRESHMENTS Facilities and light refreshments will be provided in the Exhibitors Lounge, which will be located at the end of the Seminar room hallway. Food and drinks may be purchased at the cafeteria located in the Building. Bottled water and mints will be provided for staff at each pod (limited supply). ADDITIONAL SPACE The UQ stand design can be found on the final pages of this document. We will be utilising the same components as in previous years however layout will be slightly different. To improve traffic flow and staff comfort at the event we have booked an additional four booths this year. This additional space has been made possible by the move to the new venue. There will be a number of Student Ambassadors on hand to assist with restocking brochure stands and removing rubbish during the event. Staff are encouraged not to bring valuables to the event as security of valuables cannot be guaranteed. There will be two brochure stands per faculty pod. Please contact OMC marketing if you require a polo shirt. The UQ School Liaison team will not have extra polo shirts at the venue. Please also note a) Closed in shoes are essential for all UQ staff b) UQ staff are encouraged to wear black trousers/skirt rather than jeans. Shorts are not permitted. c) Where possible, layer up with undershirts beneath your UQ polo shirt rather than obscuring the branding with jumpers or jackets Schools and faculties are responsible for supplying their own name tags for staff. PARKING Parking will be available within the RNA grounds at designated locations. A parking fee is charged by the RNA, for all vehicles, on each day of the event and can be purchased upon arrival at the venue. Further details on parking rates and pre-paid parking forms will be distributed prior to the event. CLEANING On both Saturday and Sunday evening, the organisers will arrange for all waste to be removed from stands and the main exhibition hall. To assist the venue cleaners with this task it is requested that all empty cartons are folded or flattened and placed in the aisle in front of your stand at the conclusion of each day. EMERGENCY & SAFETY PLANS Emergency and Safety Plans for the event are to be advised and will be sent through closer to the event. ATM FACILITIES & SECURITY A cash machine is accessible at the car park entrance to the venue. Please advise staff not to bring valuables to the venue as their security cannot be guaranteed.
