This is a template of the format of the abstract to be submitted for the conference IONS Karlsruhe 2015.
The abstract should be submitted as PDF file to IONS2015_registration@hotmail.com. The subject of the e-mail
should be formatted as “Abstract – Corresponding Author”. Paper size should be A4 format (210 mm x 297 mm)
and the margins should be set for a 2.5 cm top, bottom, left, and right. The text font should be 10pt Times
(roman, bold or italic) with single line spacing. All equations, drawings, figures, tables and references should be
included within the one page limit of the abstract. Don't include more than two graphs/images/figures and also
no more than two tables. Avoid text not related to the presentation such as asterisks, acknowledgements, job
descriptions or footnotes.
The total abstract has to fit on one page. The abstract text should include at least 1500 characters and no
more than 3000 characters. The title of the abstract should be brief, clearly indicating the nature of the
presentation. Be as concise as possible in your presentation, highlighting what is novel and original about your
submission. Simple equations should be included in-line, whereas more complex expressions should be centred
and numbered if there are several. Figures should be relevant to the submission and preferably centred as shown
below. The quality of the images should be minimum 72 dpi and maximum 300 dpi. Placing figures side-by-side
is a convenient way to include multiple figures within the one page limit. Figure captions should be centred
beneath figures and in an 8-point font. Figure captions should be indented 1 cm on both sides and justified on
both right and left sides.
Fig. 1 The abbreviation “Fig.” should appear first, followed by the figure number, a period, and then the figure caption.
Figures can be in grayscale (photocopy friendly) or in colour.
References should be placed at the end of the abstract in the same order as they are referenced in the
body. The font for the references is 8pt, and they have to be aligned left. The format for the references is given
below. References within the body of the abstract should be designated by a number in brackets [1], and should
be precede by a comma. If two references are cited at once they should be included together [1,2], separated by a
comma, while three or more consecutive references should be separated with a dash [1-3].
